The 2024 Paris Olympics have delivered some truly memorable moments in the gym. And on July 29, one man had one job to do in order to end a 16-year drought and bring home a medal for Team USA Men’s Gymnastics.

Stephen Nedoroscik has become a fan favorite and dubbed “Clark Kent” for his appearance and dark-rimmed glasses that he took off just before competing in the last event of the team competition. “Pommel Horse Steve” understood the assignment and delivered an incredible performance that secured the bronze medal for the Men’s Gymnastics team.

After seeing him in action, the 25-year-old Penn State grad, who can do a Rubik’s cube in under 10 seconds, gained legions of fans all over the country and now they want to know more about him and his girlfriend, Tess McCracken.

McCracken is also a gymnast

Like Nedoroscik, McCracken is also a gymnast.

She was born on Jan. 27, 1998, in Plano, Texas, to parents Broderick and Nancy. She has an older brother and a younger sister. After high school, she enrolled at Penn State where she majored in Science.

“I chose Penn State because the moment I stepped on campus it felt right,” her college bio reads. “I felt like the people here wanted me to be a part of their journey, and I decided I wanted them to be a part of my journey as well.”

While her beau is the “Pommel Horse King,” McCracken specializes in the uneven bars, the balance beam, and the floor exercise. She had a successful collegiate career and, during her senior season, was named an AAI Award Nominee, which is an award given to the nation’s most outstanding senior. After 16 years of competing, McCracken retired from the sport following her final semester at Penn State.

How Nedoroscik and McCracken met

McCracken and Nedoroscik are college sweethearts. Their paths first crossed when they both competed in gymnastics with the Nittany Lions.

They dated throughout college and when they graduated in 2020, Nedoroscik took to Instagram to profess his love for his girlfriend after their first four years together writing: “Four years ago I had my entire collegiate experience ahead of me. Little did I know I had already found my favorite part about college. I love you [Tess McCracken] and happy four years.”

Nedoroscik calls McCracken his ‘beautiful cheerleader’

Over the years McCracken has paid tribute with touching posts to her beau as well and gushed about how proud she is of him becoming an Olympian.

And just before his Olympic debut, Nedoroscik made sure to thank his girlfriend, calling her his “beautiful cheerleader,” writing: “A special thank you to my family especially my mom and dad. Thank you for supporting me throughout every up and down. To my beautiful cheerleader [Tess McCracken] I couldn’t have done it without you. I love you. To all my teammates past and present you shaped me into the athlete I am today and I thank you for every moment we shared.”
