This BTS Member Dressed as a ‘Squid Game’ Character During a Permission To Dance on Stage Concert
Even the BTS members shared their love for Netflix’s Squid Game. Here’s what these idols said about the series and which member dressed in a red outfit during a Permission to Dance on Stage concert.
The BTS members had a ‘Permission to Dance on Stage’ residency at Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium
They don’t need permission to dance. Months following the cancellation of BTS’ Map of the Soul World Tour, this boy band finally returned to the stage with their SoFi Stadium residency.
With each day selling out, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook performed songs like “Permission to Dance,” “Blue & Grey,” and “Life Goes On” in-person for ARMYs.
From Megan Thee Stallion’s surprise appearance during “Butter” to Halsey standing in the audience, there were a few surprising moments from this residency that eventually went viral. During the third night, V even dressed as a character from the popular Netflix series Squid Game.
BTS V dressed as one of the ‘Squid Game’ characters
The BTS members are known for sporting iconic outfits. The oldest member, Jin, even wore his Line Friends character stuffed animal during a live performance. On the third day of Permission to Dance on Stage, V wore an all-red outfit and black mask, as seen in the Netflix original series Squid Game.
Although this character doesn’t have a name, he’s known as one of the anonymous employees behind the “Squid Game.” The idol picked some interesting songs to sport this ensemble, including “Spring Day” and “Love Myself: Answer.”
At one point, “Love Myself” appeared across the screen along with a closeup of V with his square mask. Of course, he eventually took the mask off to see ARMYs face-to-face. Within a matter of hours, terms including “Squid Game” and “Taehyung” trended worldwide on the social media platform Twitter.
However, this wouldn’t be the only reference to the series from the BTS members, as the day before, Jin sported pigtails similar to the big doll seen during the “Red Light Green Light” game.
Have the BTS members seen the Netflix original series, ‘Squid Game’?
Since its debut, Squid Game became of the most popular shows on Netflix, remaining on the “Top 10” list in the United States for several weeks. On the social media platform Weverse an ARMY asked J-Hope whether or not he’s seen this series.
“Would you like to play a game of ddakji with me,” J-Hope according to Zoom TV Entertainment, referring to the paper game featured in the first episode of the drama series.
During an interview with WIRED, RM revealed that several BTS members take English lessons. Jimin, who is not taking classes, cites Netflix as his primary way of learning the second language.
Music by BTS is available on most major music streaming platforms.
