‘1000-Lb Sisters’ Star Amy Slaton Scolded Fans for Coming to Her House: ‘It’s Extremely Disrespectful’
The Slaton sisters are well-known thanks to TLC’s 1000-Lb Sisters. Tammy and Amy Slaton initially attained fame via YouTube, and they later got their own show highlighting their journey toward a healthier life. Now, Amy’s taking to YouTube to share her thoughts and feelings regarding fans who show up unannounced to her home.
How old is Amy Slaton? Where are the Slaton sisters from?
Amy Slaton captured fans’ hearts via 1000-Lb Sisters for two seasons. As for her age, she’s 33 years old, and her birthday is Oct. 28. Tammy is 34 years old and has a birthday on July 27. The Slaton sisters are from the small city of Dixon in Webster County, Kentucky.
While the sisters are close in age and also quite close to each other, their lives appear to be growing apart the more fans watch the show. Amy has a son, Gage, who was born in November 2020.
“It’s emotional,” she said on the show, via People. “You can’t really talk about [it] because you just love him so much you don’t have words to explain how much you love him.”
Having a baby wasn’t easy for Amy, either, as Gage was born via Cesarian section due to his breech positioning. Overall, though, the pregnancy and delivery went smoothly — but it wasn’t always easy for Tammy. Tammy noted she had a range of emotions associated with Amy’s pregnancy, as it came soon after Amy’s weight-loss surgery.
“I was mad and sad and worried about her health and safety since it was so soon after her [weight-loss] surgery,” Tammy shared.
Amy Slaton took to YouTube to scold fans for ‘disrespectful’ behavior
The 1000-Lb Sisters stars adore their fans, and they never imagined they’d have so many viewers care about their day-to-day lives. With that said, they still want their personal privacy respected. And Amy Slaton issued a scolding via YouTube regarding some behavior from fans she didn’t appreciate.
On March 19, 2021, Amy posted a video initially thanking fans for sending gifts to Gage. Then, she got into the real message. “There have been people taking pictures with me in public, which is OK,” she explained. “Ya’ll can come up to us in public. We’re more than happy to take a picture with you. But, do not come to our house.”
Amy then explained some fans are sending items directly to her home. This shouldn’t happen, as she has a P.O. box. “It’s extremely disrespectful and unsafe,” she added. “This house should feel like a home. I shouldn’t have to worry about my son in our house.”
Will ‘1000-Lb Sisters’ return?
Despite some unwanted attention at Amy Slaton’s home, will she return for another season of 1000-Lb Sisters? It looks like she and Tammy are on for season 3. TLC announced the sisters will return to the small screen for yet another season of the show.
“Tammy and Amy Slaton have captivated us with their fun-loving personalities, heartfelt challenges, and uplifting victories,” Alon Orstein, SVP Production and Development at TLC, explained. “We admire their genuine, evolving journeys and we are rooting for them as they pursue paths toward healthier lifestyles.”
Not only are both sisters slated to return, but we imagine Chris Combs will also join in. Chris is Amy and Tammy’s brother, and in season 2, fans adored how he tried to get Tammy on the right track with her health goals.
We’re looking forward to hearing more about the upcoming season of the show. For now, we hope fans allow Amy to have a bit more privacy.
