1000-Lb Sisters star Amy Slaton is married, and welcomed her first baby into the world in November 2020. However her sister, Tammy Slaton is not. But she’s not single either — at least not during Season 2 of the TLC reality show. Tammy is dating Jerry Sykes during the show, but there’s something of a sordid background to their relationship. Now, it seems like there’s upheaval on the horizon. Are Tammy Slaton and Jerry Sykes still dating?
Jerry Sykes is a married man
It turns out that Tammy Slaton’s boyfriend on 1000-Lb Sisters is still married. And according to his wife, Tammy Slaton knows and doesn’t care.
Sykes was married to Kia Russell-Sykes when he started dating Tammy Slaton on the TLC reality show. Kia only discovered Jerry’s cheating when the show hit television. As a result, the two are separated, but they aren’t yet divorced.
“We are married, but we are not together cause he went on that show. He told me if I [file for divorce] he will not sign the papers,” Kia told The Sun. She went on to reveal that the two even have children together.
“I don’t think I can forgive him anymore. We have seven kids together. They are upset with him,” she added.
She went on to explain that TLC reached out to her, as they were curious of she’d like to appear on the show and discuss the matter of Jerry’s infidelity. Kia turned down the offer.
Tammy Slaton came out as pansexual
1000-Lb Sisters star Tammy Slaton came out to Jerry Sykes as pansexual during an episode of the show — something she felt nervous about doing, as she wasn’t sure how he might react.
“So like, Jerry, I got some stuff that we need to talk about,” Tammy started out.
“You can tell me anything,” Jerry reassured her. Tammy informed him that she’s pansexual, while looking nervous. Sykes seemed unsure how to react, and asked her what that meant.
“It means love is love. I would date anybody, whether they’re transgender, straight, gay,” Tammy explained. “It’s about how they make me feel, not how they look.”
“I always thought I was bisexual, and then I started talking to one of my friends and she told me she was pansexual, and I asked her kind of what it meant,” she told producers.
“It means you love everybody, not just the same sex. And I was like, ‘Well, I guess I am too, because I wouldn’t mind being with someone who’s transgender, or whatever,’” she explained.
Sykes then informed Tammy Slaton that he loves her regardless of her sexual identification.

Since all of this went down, 1000-Lb Sisters fans have been left wondering whether or not Jerry Sykes and Tammy Slaton are still together.
It turns out that the two seem to have split up. Jerry Sykes left Tammy Slaton, allegedly because he felt bad about cheating on his wife with Slaton. One Reddit user says Tammy Slaton confirmed via Instagram live that the two are no longer dating.
