‘1000-Lb Sisters’: Fans Worry That Season 3 Could Be the Last
1000-lb Sisters Season 3 was announced earlier this year and now the premiere date is around the corner. During season 2, TLC fans lobbied to get a third and fourth season, however, the fourth season has not yet been announced. Now, some fans are worried that season 3 could be the show’s last.
‘1000-lb Sisters’ fans worried the show won’t get renewed
With season 3 just weeks away, some fans are starting to get concerned about a potential season 4.
“Someone on Facebook posted that season 3 will be the last season :( Is this true? I hope not,” one concerned fan asked on Reddit.
Others were quick to answer, saying that TLC was probably waiting to see how season 3 did before they made any decisions.
“I don’t think that stuff is decided until the current season airs & they see how many views they get,” one person answered. “Or they get the cast under contract for X years so they can see how it goes, with the option to end it at any time. I’d like to see it keep going, because I love garbage entertainment, but it’s getting to a point that unless Tammy decides to do something with her life this season, there’s not much more story to tell.”
“If TLC thinks they can make money off of season 4, there will be a season 4,” another person added.
Some fans didn’t know what season 4 would even be about.
“Well, Tammy never lost any weight,” one fan commented. “Amy gained it back. What would it be about?”
Fans petitioned for seasons 3 and 4
While season 2 was airing, fans started a Change.org petition to ensure that they would get to see more of the Slaton sisters.
“There’s an overwhelmingly huge fan base for Amy & Tammy Slaton on 1000-Lb Sisters and we want to secure seasons 3 & 4 to be renewed ASAP. We also would like to see a bigger budget for the show. This is a lot of people’s favorite show on television and we are concerned about renewal,” the Change.org petition read.
The petition garnered over 6,000 signatures.
‘1000-lb Sisters’ Season 3
While there is no word on season 4 quite yet, season 3 is certainly shaping up to be a tough one for the Slaton sisters.
“With her weight spiraling, Tammy makes the game-changing decision to check herself into rehab for food addiction, but her stay there may be short-lived as she considers the best way to reach her goals. She also appears to be talking to a new love interest, which is cause for concern for her family, as relationships have hindered Tammy’s progress in the past,” the season’s synopsis reads.
And though Amy got weight loss surgery, her journey to getting healthy isn’t over yet. In fact, the toughest part may be just beginning.
“Amy is dealing with her own stress, and while her dreams came true when she became a mom to son Gage, balancing the demands of motherhood with her own weight-loss goals may prove to be impossible,” the synopsis reads.
1000-lb Sisters Season 3 premieres Nov. 15.
