Amy Slaton’s weight loss surgery

During season 1 of the show, Amy had lost enough weight to be able to undergo weight loss surgery. Her sister, however, had not, so she did the surgery alone. By season 2, Amy had dropped 100 lbs and her sister had gained weight. When Amy got pregnant, she paused the weight loss in order to focus on the baby. During that time, Amy ate what she wanted. She was even sent to the hospital after giving in to a Chinese food craving that ended up giving her horrible gas. Once Amy’s baby came into the world, the new mom started trying to lose weight once again.

Amy isn’t quite as active on social media as Tammy so it’s hard for fans to keep up with her. But a fan recently spotted Amy out and about and snapped a picture. In the photo, shared by SoapDirt, Amy is noticeably slimmer than when fans saw her on 1000-lb Sisters Season 2.

Tammy, on the other hand, struggled to lose weight throughout 1000-lb Sisters Season 2. On her final doctor weigh-in, she revealed that she hadn’t been eating as healthy as she should have been. In the end, Tammy actually gained weight.

“I just wasn’t doing what I needed to do. I mean, sometimes I try to eat healthier, and then other days I’m like, ‘What the heck’s the point?’” she said.

But the doctor actually commended her for opening up about her food addiction even though she gained 25 lbs.

“You could’ve blamed [that] you couldn’t get out of bed, you could’ve blamed that you had COVID and you could’ve blamed that you were in the hospital, and you didn’t,” he said. “And believe it or not, that’s a step forward from where you’ve been in the past. So you just made progress even though your weight went up.”

‘1000-lb Sisters’ Season 3 shows what Amy Slaton looks like now

“There’s an overwhelmingly huge fan base for Amy & Tammy Slaton on 1000-Lb Sisters and we want to secure seasons 3 & 4 to be renewed ASAP. We also would like to see a bigger budget for the show. This is a lot of people’s favorite show on television and we are concerned about renewal,” the Change.org petition read.
