‘1000-Lb Sisters’: Season 3 Filming Has Begun, Per Chris Combs
1000-Lb Sisters is one of TLC’s more recent hits. The show stars Amy Slaton, Tammy Slaton, and their family members including brother Chris Combs as they aim to lose weight and improve their health. Season 2 of the show almost didn’t air, and when the finale happened, it left fans wondering if 1000-Lb Sisters Season 3 was going to happen or not. TLC has since confirmed the third season, and now Chris Combs claims filming has already begun.
‘1000-Lb Sisters’ Season 2 ends with some frustrations
1000-Lb Sisters Season 2 left off with Tammy Slaton feeling very frustrated with her current situation. The sisters and Chris Combs went to Dr. Smith for a check-in, and Tammy discovered that she’d gained weight since her last visit.
“I mean, sometimes I try to eat healthier, and then other days I’m like, ‘What the heck’s the point?’” she said during the episode. Tammy admitted that she does slip up, and that when she does it leaves her feeling even worse about herself than before.
“Even more depressed. Because I know I shouldn’t sit there and eat it all, but I do, and I don’t know how to stop,” she told Dr. Smith when he asked how she felt. Dr. Smith told Tammy Slaton that admitting that was one of the hardest steps.
“I’m really proud of you for the fact that you just admitted, ‘I don’t know how to stop,’ because that’s the first step in asking somebody to try to help you learn to stop,” Dr. Smith tells her.
“You could’ve blamed [that] you couldn’t get out of bed, you could’ve blamed that you had COVID and you could’ve blamed that you were in the hospital, and you didn’t. And believe it or not, that’s a step forward from where you’ve been in the past. So you just made progress even though your weight went up.”
Cris Combs says ‘1000-Lb Sisters’ Season 3 has begun filming
At first, fans thought 1000-Lb Sisters Season 3 would be a no-go. Some even started a petition for TLC to renew the show. Eventually, TLC came out with a confirmation that the show would be filming for a third season.
“Tammy and Amy Slaton have captivated us with their fun-loving personalities, heartfelt challenges and uplifting victories,” wrote TLC’s Alon Orstein.
“We admire their genuine, evolving journeys and we are rooting for them as they pursue paths toward healthier lifestyles.”
What’s more, 1000-Lb Sisters star Chris Combs recently let it slip that Season 3 of the show is already filming. According to Soap Dirt, he let the news leak on social media before tagging both Amy Slaton and Tammy Slaton.
Fans make predictions for Season 3
Fans are thrilled about 1000-Lb Sisters Season 3, and have started sharing their predictions for what might happen on the show.
Many have suggested that TLC may begin focusing more on Chris and Amy Slaton than on Tammy Slaton. Others posit that Tammy has been moved to an assisted living facility, and that viewers will see more of that on the show.
“The season will begin with Tammy in a facility. Amy and Michael will have moved into their new home (stage home provided by TLC). … Amy and Tammy will have a falling out and by the end of the season be almost completely estranged,” suggested Redditor.
“Huge focus on Amy as a new mother. She and Michael will have moved into a new home. S2 felt like her pregnancy was the focal point, Tammy was just an aside,” wrote another Redditor.
