Tammy, 38, took to TikTok on August 17 to give a shout-out to the women who’ve been by her side on her weight loss journey

The reposted video, set to Andra Day’s “Rise Up,” showed Tammy and six of her friends as each revealed how much weight she had lost. When Tammy walked into the frame, the number 500 popped up on the screen.

Altogether, the seven women had lost more than 2,000 pounds.

“Truly absolutely amazing ladies and I’m happy to call y’all my friends,” Tammy wrote on the post. “I’m so proud of each and everyone of y’all not only are you beautiful on the inside but [you’re] gorgeous on the outside never forget.”

Commenters on Tammy’s TikTok praised the TLC star for her remarkable transformation. Just a few years ago, Tammy was at her heaviest weight ever – 725 pounds. She was struggling with multiple health problems and at one point ended up in a medically induced coma when she suddenly stopped breathing.

The near-death experience was a wake-up call for Tammy. While in rehab, she lost close to 200 pounds, which was enough to qualify her for bariatric surgery. She continued to lose weight after the surgery, and by December 2023, she was down to 285 pounds. Now, it seems that she’s shed another 60 pounds.

Tammy shows off her fun side in dancing video

Tammy’s dramatic weight loss has changed her life in many ways. A few days after her post celebrating her fellow weight loss warriors, she shared a video of herself dancing, something that would have been unthinkable a few years ago.

“I know I can’t dance,” Tammy captioned the post. “I’m just up here having fun trying to make everybody smile and pass it around and spread in the word that anything is possible you’re strong. You’re beautiful. You are love. You are enough. Never forget that.”

In a 2023 interview with People, Tammy opened up about how much her life had changed since having bariatric surgery.

“One of the big changes that I have gone through this past year is probably small to most people,” she said. “But for me it was huge.”

“Just being able to walk without a walker or be pushed in a wheelchair, and no oxygen. I don’t even sleep with it at night anymore,” Tammy explained. “Then it was being able to fit in a regular vehicle, front seat, and then the belt buckle, and not have to use an extender now. So I mean, just what seems minor to some people is giant for me.”
