The Teen Mom OG family is expanding again! Tyler Baltierra and Catelyn Lowell have officially welcomed their third child together! Catelyn and Tyler announced their pregnancy back in September, and now the newest family member has arrived.

Vieda Luma Baltierra arrived on February 21 at just before 10 am, according to USA Today.  The new addition joins her big sister Novalee Reign at home. Tyler and Catelyn were first featured on MTV’s 16 and Pregnant.

Their episode followed them as young teens with a tough decision to make. Unlikely other stars of the show, the pair elected to give up their first child, Carly, for adoption. The couple enjoys an open adoption where they get regular updates about Carly and meet up once a year to see the youngster, now 9.  Tyler and Catelyn have gone on to experience great success as motivational speakers while filming Teen Mom OG.

Catelyn and Tyler were taken by surprise with their third pregnancy

Catelyn and Tyler have had their shares of ups and downs, and the announcement of their third pregnancy was no different. While the couple is overjoyed to be welcoming another family member, the pregnancy didn’t come at the most opportune time.

The couple has been struggling to relate to one another as of late. Catelyn suffered significantly with postpartum depression after the birth of their second child and even spent time in a treatment center due to it. According to E!, Tyler was caught entirely off guard by the pregnancy and told his father he had no desire to bring an innocent child into a mess.

He admits that he has struggled, throughout the pregnancy, to take care of himself while still being supportive towards his wife. The family’s difficulties have been documented on Season 7 of Teen Mom OG.

The couple had previously split

While Catelyn and Tyler have enjoyed a love story that has lasted nearly 15 years, that doesn’t mean it has always been perfect. The pair, who first met in middle school, got engaged in 2010, but split shortly after. While they reconciled, the time apart rocked the young couple. Catelyn admitted to hooking up with a previous love interest while they were on a break.

In 2014 they recommitted themselves to one another and once again announced their engagement. After the birth of Novalee, the pair wed, however, things weren’t perfect for the newlyweds. Balancing a new baby, work and mental health issues, the couple were pushed to their breaking point, according to US Magazine.

Teen Mom OG has documented plenty of ups and downs for the couple, including the third pregnancy and the couple’s time in therapy. Tyler, for his part, admits he hasn’t been happy in his marriage for a long time and is trying to figure out the best way to live his life while committed to his family. Catelyn, who was rocked by postpartum depression is trying to explore her past trauma and navigate her new role as a wife and mother.

The pair, who had rocky upbringings themselves, are committed to raising their children in a healthier environment. Tyler’s father, Butch and Catelyn’s mother, April, married in 2009. The pair ended their marriage in 2013, creating even more drama for the young lovebirds.
