2 Royal Authors Explain Why Meghan Markle Has Lost Them as Allies Leaving the Duchess Very Upset
After Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped down from their roles as working royals, they began airing out the duke family’s dirty laundry to the highest bidder. While they painted a few of Harry’s relatives in a bad light, they also did a bit of damage to their own reputations.
The Sussexes’ constant victim narrative began to wear thin on some and even led to them being ridiculed by comedians and in shows like South Park and The Family Guy. And by the end of 2023, the duke and duchess landed on The Hollywood Reporter’s “Biggest Losers” list.
They also lost a couple of allies along the way including two who have recently spoken out against Meghan and the duchess is reportedly very sad and angry about one of those people no longer being on her side.
The 2 former allies no longer in Meghan’s corner
The two people Meghan no longer has as allies are Hugo Vickers and Tina Brown. Vickers is a longtime royal family biographer and Brown is the former editor-in-chief of Vanity Fair and The New Yorker as well as the founder of The Daily Beast and Talk Magazine.
Brown, who was also one of Princess Diana’s confidants, recently gave her opinion about the Duchess of Sussex these days during an appearance on The Ankler podcast with Janice Win.
Brown said: “The trouble with Meghan is that she has the worst judgment of anyone in the entire world. She’s flawless about getting it all wrong. She really is. Her issue is that she doesn’t listen. She has all these people, asks them their opinion, and then doesn’t follow it. She does what she wants to do. And all of her ideas are total crap, unfortunately.”
And Vickers told The Sun: “For what it’s worth, Meghan lost me as an ally, too, because when she first joined the royal family, the line I was taking was she’s the first member to have addressed the United Nations. There was so much that she could do, but she gradually managed to upset everybody, including Tina Brown, and that can’t be a coincidence.”
He added: “Megan does seem to have a capacity for losing friends and allies all around the place and Tina Brown, of course, is a very intelligent observer of the scene, and she’s been doing it for a very long time.”
Meghan reportedly ‘outraged,’ ‘inconsolable’ after being slammed by her role model
Brown’s blistering remarks have reportedly hit Meghan pretty hard because she looked up to the former magazine editor.
Royal expert Neil Sean claimed that he was told Brown’s scathing comments really affected Meghan as she was left “inconsolable with tears and at the same time outraged” over what someone she admired so much said about her judgment and decisions.
“According to a source, Meghan was bereft because she’d admired Tina Brown and in particular read her books simply because of her connection to Princess Diana,” Neil said per Express.”And get this because she wanted to find a better connection so she could understand her husband Prince Harry and how he felt about his mother.”
