2022 Billboard Music Awards: Florence + The Machine, Silk Sonic, and More Join Performance Lineup
The 2022 Billboard Music Awards will be held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on May 15. So far, two rounds of performers have been announced for the 2022 BBMAs. The newest round of performers for the music award show was announced on April 29, with Florence + The Machine, Silk Sonic, and more joining the lineup.
Billboard announced more performers for the 2022 Billboard Music Awards
On April 29, Billboard revealed four new acts have joined the performance lineup at the upcoming BBMAs. Florence + The Machine, Maxwell, Morgan Wallen, and Silk Sonic are the newly-announced performers.
Including the first round of performers, nine music acts have been announced in the performance lineup. Billboard will announce more performers over the coming weeks.

What to know about the 2022 Billboard Music Awards performers
Ahead of the 2022 BBMAs, Billboard revealed some fun facts about the performing acts and what to expect from the performances at the award show.
According to press releases about the BBMAs, here are some interesting facts about a handful of the performers:
- Florence + The Machine “will deliver a trademark whirlwind performance.”
- Maxwell “will deliver a special tribute performance to a pop milestone” that will invoke “nostalgia.”
- Silk Sonic’s performance will be “a smooth yet vibrant display.”
- Megan Thee Stallion’s performance is set “to be a dynamic production.”
- Red Hot Chili Peppers will perform at the BBMAs for the first time in 23 years, as their last performance at the award show took place in 1999.
Who is nominated at the 2022 Billboard Music Awards?
The 2022 BBMAs will be hosted by Sean “DIDDY” Combs. Mary J. Blige is set to receive the Icon Award at the 2022 BBMAs.
This year, there are a total of 62 categories. Finalists and winners are based on chart performance on Billboard charts from April 10, 2021, through March 26, 2022.
