3 MCU Heroes to Undergo the Greatest Character Transformations Following ‘Avengers: Endgame’
Avengers: Endgame was not only a narrative conclusion but also a transitional film — opening the door for character transformations in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Based on the fallout of events surrounding Endgame, as well as upcoming shows and their associated storylines, three characters seem most likely to undergo the greatest transformations in the MCU.
1. Hulk / Bruce Banner
In Avengers: Endgame, Bruce Banner and the Jade Giant merged — coming to coexist within one body. Thus, fans got to witness the beginning of Professor Hulk. And, with his arm likely damaged beyond repair (or for the foreseeable future), the character seems bound to take on a mentorship and leadership role in the future.
As several original Avengers depart the landscape, Hulk remains as one of the only OG saviors; thus, his experience on and off the field — in the lab and in combat — will likely help guide future incoming heroes. Not to mention, She-Hulk is on the horizon. And, if the Disney+ series follows the comic book storyline, Banner will be responsible for transforming his cousin, Jennifer Walters, into a fellow Jade Giant.

In short, Hulk seems destined for an MCU existence focused on his scientific prowess and research-inclined mind. And, with Tony Stark gone, those behind the Marvel films may up this quality, using his damaged arm to downplay his stomp and smash readiness.
2. Falcon / Sam Wilson
Falcon and the Winter Soldier is on the horizon. And, Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson is set to carry Cap’s shield in the Disney+ original. In other words, while Falcon’s personality may remain consistent, his approach to combat will likely begin to align with Captain America’s.
Not to mention, knowing that Cap left him the shield – which is both an honor and a responsibility — moral choices may weigh a bit more heavily on the character than they did previously. He will yearn to make Rogers proud, which will not be easy. For, who is as upstanding and righteous as Cap?
3. Scarlet Witch / Wanda Maximoff
Scarlet Witch has experienced a great deal of pain and trauma in the MCU. She and Thor have arguably experienced the most earth-shattering heartbreak. While Thor drank beers and learned to play Fortnite to shake away his loss, Scarlet Witch will aim to repair her psyche via magical maneuvers. Wanda has lost Vision, and she has lost her twin brother, Quicksilver.
With WandaVision set to emulate the House of M comics, Wanda may will Vision back to life, along with a couple of kids, in her attempt to create a Leave it to Beaver picture-perfect household. With a fractured mind, which will lead to a fractured reality, she will become quite a threat — one that Doctor Strange will likely have to handle.
In short, Wanda’s instability could spell problems for the Avengers and planet earth altogether. Wanda Maximoff will fully become Scarlet Witch, yet the state in which she is in seems unlikely to bode well for her and those around her (at first).
