3 Times It Was Obvious That Kody Brown Did Once Love Meri Brown
Kody Brown has tried desperately to rewrite his personal history. The father of 18 has spent the last several seasons of Sister Wives dealing with the fallout from his divorces. How he treated the end of his union with Meri Brown is markedly different from how he approached the end of his marriages to Janelle and Christine Brown. For seasons, the Sister Wives star has insisted he didn’t love Meri Brown. He even tried to suggest he never loved her. Meri Brown isn’t taking it anymore, calling “b******t” on his proclamation in a trailer for the upcoming season. Fans agree with Meri. We’ve collected three moments where it was clear that Kody not only loved Meri Brown but may have preferred her to his two other ex-wives.
Christine and Janelle have both suggested Meri was once Kody’s “favored” wife
Christine Brown and Janelle Brown both hinted at Kody favoring Meri in earlier seasons of the show. In the series’ first season, Christine and Janelle noted that Kody often spent time at Meri’s house because it was “quiet” there, as she had just one child living with her. Christine also argued that Kody often showered at Meri’s home, an action that she considered offensive. He cited “better water pressure” as the reason why.
While Kody and his wives attempted to explain away his favoritism, it’s pretty easy to see through the excuses. Kody preferred spending extra time with Meri Brown before he hooked up with Robyn. The quiet of her home and the water pressure are not the only reasons he spent so much time there. Clearly, Meri Brown was a draw.
Meri and Kody had undeniable chemistry in the lead-up to his wedding to Robyn Brown
Meri and Kody Brown agreed that their relationship experienced many ups and downs over the years. Still, when fans first met them, it didn’t seem like they hated each other. In fact, they appeared downright smitten ahead of his wedding to Robyn Brown.
Sister Wives fans often point out the smoldering look he gave Meri right before he was set to marry Robyn. In one telling scene, Kody stands before Meri while she helps him with his tie. The duo gaze into each other’s eyes and look close enough to kiss, although they don’t. The chemistry between them was undeniable, and we just don’t think Kody is that good of an actor. Meri and Kody Brown were clearly very much in love at that point.
Kody considered leaving Christine to deal with a sick child to accompany Meri and Leon Brown to college
Kody Brown seriously considered leaving Christine Brown to deal with her very sick child so he could accompany Meri to bring their only child, Leon Brown, to college. Despite his younger child’s illness, Kody was set to take the trip out of state for Leon’s freshman dropoff. The only reason he didn’t accompany Meri and Leon was because Meri told him to stay behind and focus on his sick youngster.
Kody could argue that he wanted to see his child off to school, but Sister Wives fans are well-versed in Kody’s habit of abandoning his kids when he is upset, angry, or not in love with their mothers. If Kody hadn’t loved Meri, he would have used the very understandable excuse of a sick child at home not to travel with her.
