Historical romance K-dramas is a fun, guilty pleasure. The K-drama Rookie Historian Goo Hae-ryung has the female lead, Hea-ryung, develop feelings for the male lead. But it took a while to get it right. Set in the 19th century, Hae-ryung is a female historian. Her career is frowned upon due to her gender. She finds herself getting involved with the prince, Yi Rim.
Over time, the two characters develop feelings for each other. In episode 11, they get close to their first kiss, but Hae-ryung backs out. Their real first kiss occurred in Rookie Historian Goo Hae-ryung Episode 12. Yi Rim wrote Hae-ryung a heartfelt and loving poem, and she finally reads it. When they meet, she cannot help but shed tears over his love confession. She wraps her arms around Yi Rim’s neck and initiates the kiss.
‘Hotel Del Luna’ breaks the scary horror of a monster with the K-drama’s first kiss
Hotel Del Luna is a staple supernatural K-drama that involves the afterlife. Jang Man-wol is the hotel owner and helps spirits settle their grievances before moving on. Due to a deal made in the past, Gu Chan-sung began to work at the hotel as the general manager.
Man-wol is a strong and independent woman by nature but is intrigued by Chan-sung. He finds himself petrified by an evil spirit in a desolate room in episode four. Unable to defend himself, Man-wol comes to his rescue. She tells him not to breathe or listen to the spirit.
The spirit begins to leave her hideout. As Chan-sung tries to turn around, Man-wol takes control, and they have their first kiss in the K-drama. It is a romantic yet comical scene as the once chilling aura of the evil spirit is cut by a sweet serenade.
In a dire scenario in ‘Happiness,’ the female lead initiates the first kiss
Happiness was 2021’s most talked-about zombie K-dramas in the wake of the coronavirus (COVDI-19) pandemic. The story centered on Sae-bom, a special forces officer, and Yi-hyun, a detective. They get involved in a viral outbreak of a failed pharmaceutical pill that turns humans into monsters.
Fans not only gravitated toward the apocalyptic zombie story but the long-awaited romance between Sae-bom and Yi-hyun. In Happiness, they pretend to be married to get a new apartment, but fans know Yi-hyun has had a crush on Sae-bom since high school.
During the K-drama’s finale, Yi-hyun has given in to the virus’s effects. To protect the other characters, he secludes himself in their apartment. Sae-bom risks her life, being immune to the virus, to enter the tenant building to save him. She soothes him back to his human side and confesses her feelings. She is the one to initiate their first kiss in the K-drama.
Fans were over the moon at the perfect scene, with one fan commenting on Reddit, “her voice and her presence being his anchor just speaks a lot of about the strength of their relationship and it made everything, kiss included, all the much sweeter. Sae Bom saw him at his worst and most dangerous and accepted him. Yi Hyun valuing her enough to be able to break through the fog of the thirst for her.”
Hee-do takes the leap and kisses Yi-jin in ‘Twenty-Five Twenty-One’
Netflix and tvN’s Twenty-Five Twenty-One is inarguably one of the most-talked-about K-dramas of the year. It is a K-drama about youth, friendship, life, and first loves. Hee-do is a gifted fencer who meets Baek Yi-jin, who works as a paper delivery boy and at the comic book store after the IMF Crisis.
They strike an immediate friendship that starts to show signs of developing into a romance. Some fans were worried about the possible age-gap relationship after Yi-jin confesses he loves Hee-do. In Twenty-Five Twenty-One Episode 12, the clock strikes on a new year, and Hee-do is no longer a 19-year-old.
Having a further grip on how she truly feels toward Yi-jin, she initiates the first kiss in the K-drama. It was led to a standing ovation by fans as the moment they waited for finally happened but on Hee-do’s terms. The first kiss leads to an emotional relationship.
