4 Predictions About The ‘Harley Quinn’ Season 2 Finale; Will It Satisfy Harley and Ivy Fans?
After 12 episodes, Harley Quinn’s second season is coming to an end on Friday, June 26. It’s been a good run, but one question remains for the finale to answer: Will fans of Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy be satisfied? And what about Kiteman? It’s a tough line to balance, and there’s really no right answer because everyone can’t be satisfied with just one finale. But these predictions are good bets on how the season could end. [Spoiler alert: Spoilers ahead for Harley Quinn Season 2].
1. Kiteman becomes a villain
At first, Kiteman was kind of an annoying guy, hanging on to Poison Ivy. He’s a pretty lame “villain,” but once he started showing up more and his goofiness came out, he grew on the audience. Not to mention he’s a pretty laid-back guy who seems to actually have a heart of gold.
He treats Poison Ivy really well, and they’re sweet together. However, her bond and feelings are much stronger for Harley, even if she doesn’t want to commit to her out of fear of heartbreak. It seems kind of obvious at this point, though, that Harlivy will win out in the end. So where does that leave Kiteman?
If Harley and Ivy do choose each other, there’s a theory that Kiteman could be so hurt that he turns into a villain, but an actually capable bad villain this time. Some even think he’s been devious this whole time.
2. A possible Suicide Squad connection going into Season 3
Reddit user u/AdriZF wrote that they wanted to see Amanda Waller show up either at the end of this season or the beginning of next season (which hasn’t been confirmed yet).
“We get a brief mention of the Suicide Squad in season 1 but I think it’s very possible that Amanda Waller is collecting the remaining villains that survived the earthquake and the LOD bass destruction,” they wrote.
With Ivy’s wedding in the final episode, based on one promo photo we’ve already seen, there could be a lot of villain guests that pop up. Perhaps some former or future Suicide Squad members? Like with everything in this series, the creators can find a way to make this version different from the film that fans already know. And it could be an interesting dynamic to add.
3. Bane finally comes out of that pit and becomes a full-time member of Harley’s crew
When Dr. Psycho shows all of Gotham Ivy and Harley’s memories of their hookup, they show that Bane survived the burning pit. He’s a total Harley and Ivy fan — “The tension was palpable! — but the poor guy is stuck in that pit without any ladder or way to call for help.
Since Bane is a fan-favorite, maybe he’ll get out in time for Ivy’s wedding? As an honorary member of the Harlivy Fanclub, maybe he’ll be the one to yell, “I object!” But even if he doesn’t, fans want Bane back. And some fans want to see Bane become a member of Harley’s crew. That’s definitely something we’d see in Season 3, if it happens.
4. Harley and Ivy run off together
This is probably the most plausible theory out of all of these. It’s not even a theory at this point; it’s bound to happen. While the love triangle between Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, and Kiteman is very intriguing and has very good conflict, Harley and Ivy just seem like soulmates. Endgame, if you will. But the fact that — again — Kiteman and Ivy are going through with their wedding after seeing Harley and Ivy’s hookup, it’s not going to be cut and dry.
In the one image fans have for the finale, Ivy is saying something really serious to Harley, and it doesn’t look comforting. Odds are, Ivy will push and push with the wedding until the last moment. The episode is called, “The Runaway Bridesmaid,” so Harley probably won’t be able to take seeing the love of her life getting married, and runs off. Kiteman either sees how affected Ivy is by this and tells her to go after Harley. Or Ivy just goes on her own accord (possibly aiding in the “Kiteman turns evil” theory).
One critic wrote that the finale references a very famous Harley/Ivy cartoon that seems to back this theory up. If you know the reference, it’ll give away exactly what happens in this finale, so look at your own risk.
Again, there are so many variables that can go into this season finale, so it’s tough to say what exactly happens. Like Dr. Psycho; what becomes of him? Arkham perhaps? Only the finale will reveal all.
