The Haunting is the perfect series to start the Halloween season. Created by Mike Flanagan, the horror anthology series consists of two parts, The Haunting of Hill House and The Haunting of Bly Manor

Based on the 1969 novel by Shirley Jackson, Hill House follows the Crain family in two separate timelines. As children, the siblings experienced frightening paranormal encounters in a haunted house. But, the supernatural events haunt them in adulthood. Meanwhile, the events that led to the family fleeing the mansion in 1992 are shown in flashbacks.

The second installment is loosely based on the 1898 novella The Turn of the Screw, which Henry James wrote. Firstly, The Haunting of Bly Manor follows a young woman hired to nanny two children in a countryside mansion located in the United Kingdom. The series features the same ensemble cast from Hill House, including Victoria Pedretti, Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Henry Thomas, Kate Siegel, Carla Gugino, and Catherine Parker.
