‘Bridgerton’ is Netflix’s top romantic show
If historical romantic shows are your cup of tea, then Netflix’s Bridgerton is for you. The series is the brainchild of Grey’s Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes. The award-winning Regency drama focuses on the love lives of the Bridgerton siblings.
Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor) and Simon Basset (Regé-Jean Page) are one of the couples who have fans swooning. If you haven’t had a chance to binge the first season, now’s your chance to get caught up before Season 2 premieres on March 25th.
‘Virgin River’ showcases on small town living
Robyn Carr’s famous book series has become one of Netflix’s top shows. The series follows Melinda “Mel” Monroe (Alexandra Breckenridge), a Los Angeles nurse practitioner who moves to the small town of Virgin River. Mel settles into her new life and discovers the drama around the town.
Mel begins dating local restaurant owner Jack Sheridan (Martin Henderson), yet many issues plague their relationship. The Season 3 finale ended on a cliffhanger, putting Mel and Jack’s future in jeopardy. Season 4 is currently in production, and according to Digitial Spy, all the man cast members are expected to return.
‘Sweet Magnolias’ is another book adaption
Book adaptions are a huge hit for Netflix’s romantic shows. Sherryl Woods’ series Sweet Magnolias is another of the streaming service’s highest-rated shows. The series follows three friends as they navigate life in their South Carolina hometown.
JoAnna Garcia Swisher, Brooke Elliott, and Heather Headley star as the show’s leading ladies. Of course, the women’s love lives are at the center of most of the plots. In the Season 1 finale, Maddie Townsend (Swisher) is left with a tough decision when her ex-husband Bill Townsend (Chris Klein) begs her to take him back.

‘Emily in Paris’ is a fun romantic comedy
From the creator of Sex and the City comes another romantic comedy. Emily in Paris follows the life of Emily Cooper (Lily Collins), who moves from Chicago to Paris for a new job at a fashion firm. Emily adjusts to her new home as she makes friends and captures the attention of a few men.
In Season 2, Emily’s conflicted with her feelings for Gabriel (Lucas Bravo) and Alfie (Lucien Laviscount). Fans will have to wait until Season 3 to find out what happens; in the meantime, they can catch up on the latest quirky drama in her life.
‘Love Is Blind’ puts an unique spin on dating
Netflix has entered the romantic reality show market with Love Is Blind. Hosts Nick and Vanessa Lachey take viewers on dating journeys of several contestants who cannot see each other. The participants are only allowed to talk thanks to a series of “pods” where they connect through conversations.
After that part of the experiment is over, the couple becomes engaged and is whisked away to a couples retreat. Upon their return home, they live in an Atlanta apartment for four weeks and meet their significant other’s family. On the day of their wedding, the couple decides whether to marry or break up.
