The second season of Temptation Island recently came to an end, and there won’t be another season for at least a year. Here are five other shows to check out in the meantime.

Temptation Island
Ashley Howland, Casey Starchak, Esonica Veira, Gavin Rocker, Kate Griffith, David Benavidez, Rick Fleur, Ashley Goldson | Mario Perez

‘Are You the One?’

The MTV dating series helps 20 singles “who suck at love” find their perfect match using a dating algorithm. The contestants live together in a house and must figure out who their person is by competing in games and going on dates.

Then, the most promising couples are voted into the Truth Booth, where they will learn if they are a perfect match or not. If they were correct, the couple goes to the Honeymoon Suite, where they spend the rest of their time.

If they are not a match, they have to go back into the house and figure things out again. If all ten couples successfully pair up, then everyone splits a million-dollar prize.

Even though Are You the One? is more competition-based, it still promises the same drama as Temptation Island, and there have been a few success stories.

‘Ex on the Beach’

Also from MTV, Ex on the Beach invites reality stars to show up for what they believe is a new dating show in paradise. However, their exes appear and they must live in the house with them as well.

Additionally, the show includes the “Shack of Secrets” where the exes can go through each other’s phone and learn various things they tried to keep away from each other.

Every other week, the singles vote one ex off the beach. While living together, some of the singles couple up with each other as well as the exes, forcing the question, “Is your ex getting in the way of your next?”

Temptation Island and Ex on the Beach are similar as they’re not dating shows and have interesting twists that are sure to stir up drama. Additionally, TI stars Allie DiMeco, Carlos Chavez, and Cameron Sikes are on the first season of Ex on the Beach: Peak of Love. Catch it on Thursdays at 9 p.m. EST on MTV.

‘Love After Lockup’

This We TV series follows couples who meet while one is in jail. The cameras are there when one picks their partner up and chronicles their lives as they attempt to stay out of jail, get a job, and meet each other’s families.

The show quickly garnered a considerable following, and We TV launched a spin-off series to continue their stories called Life After Lockup. While Love After Lockup is not a dating show and doesn’t seem to have anything in common with Temptation Island, they do share similar viewers. Watch it Fridays at 9 p.m. EST on We TV.

’90 Day Fiance’

If you already watch Temptation Island and Love After Lockup, chances are you’ll love 90 Day Fiance. The TLC show follows couples who applied for or received a visa available to foreign finances of American citizens and only have 90 days to experience life in America with their partner before getting married.

As a result of the fandom surrounding the show, they have six spin-off series. 90 Day Fiance would be like if the cameras kept rolling after someone chose to leave the island with a single they met in the villa, but include cultural and language barriers. Catch 90 Day Fiance Sundays at 8 p.m. EST on TLC.

‘Love Island’

Initially a British show, the ITV2 dating series follows singles, or Islanders, who live together in isolation, and put constant under video surveillance. To stay in the villa, the Islanders must couple up by choosing to remain in their initial situation or “re-couple.”

If a single is dumped, they are eliminated. Additionally, the viewers vote Islanders out of the villas, and the winning couple is chosen via a public vote. Several singles who appeared on the dating series also participated in Ex on the Beach, and the show allows viewers to have a direct impact. Watch Love Island Sunday, January 12, 2020 on ITV2 at 9 p.m.
