9-1-1 Season 5 Episode 11 was everything fans hoped for in the spring premiere of the season. The show left off in episode 10 with Eddie Diaz looking to quit his firefighting job at Station 118. The new episode had him hoping to get his job back — but he was denied the position, throwing him into mental chaos. Additionally, Buck might have a new love interest in the new 118 team member, Lucy Donato. And a major emergency occurred that involved a family driving a truck that contained a bomb.

After 9-1-1 Season 5 Episode 11 aired, 9-1-1: Lone Star Season 3 Episode 11 premiered. The episode served as a crossover with the flagship series. Athena Grant, played by Angela Bassett, starred in a storyline that revolved around “swatting.” It’s unclear if more crossover events between the two shows are planned moving forward.

Fans are excited to see what comes next for both 9-1-1 Season 5 and 9-1-1: Lone Star Season 3. But is 9-1-1 canceled after season 5, and is 9-1-1: Lone Star being canceled?

Neither series has been officially renewed just yet. But rumors suggest 9-1-1 Season 6 and 9-1-1: Lone Star Season 4 renewal talks are happening now.

“Fox Entertainment and Disney are in active negotiations to renew 9-1-1 and 9-1-1: Lone Star for their respective sixth and fourth seasons,” a tweet from a spoiler source reads, according to Reddit.

Fans have mixed feelings about the potential for renewal.

“Deserves? Debatable. Will it? Most likely,” a Reddit fan commented on the news.

“The OG will probably be renewed,” another fan guessed. “I wouldn’t mind them ending [Lone Star].”

The showrunners will likely keep both shows on Monday nights going forward

If 9-1-1 Season 6 and 9-1-1: Lone Star Season 4 get the green light for renewal, it’s likely fans will continue to see the shows air on Monday nights.

“Obviously, they work so well together as part of the same franchise,” Michael Thorn, president of entertainment at Fox Entertainment, told Variety. “They are our two biggest scripted shows, period. So the idea of at least for part of every season, having them together on the same night is one of our goals.”

Thorn then added that he believes the shows could potentially last well past their currents seasons. “So far, it feels like this franchise can go the distance like a Grey’s or a Law & Order or something in that wheelhouse,” he added. “That’s our hope and belief in what this team has done with these shows.”

9-1-1 Season 5 airs Mondays at 8 p.m. EST on Fox. 9-1-1: Lone Star Season 3 airs Mondays at 9 p.m. EST on Fox.
