The ‘9-1-1’ Season 5 Episode 11 cast features newcomer Lucy Donato
Lucy Donato entered the 9-1-1 Season 5 Episode 11 cast as a replacement for Eddie Diaz. Earlier in the season, Eddie made the decision to leave Station 118 — and now, Lucy’s taking over his position. Episode 11 featured Lucy working closely with Evan “Buck” Buckley in saving a family after they were trapped in a vehicle that contained a bomb.
After Lucy and Buck spent time together, they formed a connection. Lucy goes in for the kiss — and Buck kisses back. While Buck intends on telling his girlfriend, Taylor Kelly, what occurred, he chooses not to come clean. To make matters worse, Buck asks Taylor to move in with him after the kiss between him and Lucy happens.
“But for Buck, with Lucy, he sees a spark that he hasn’t seen with anybody in a while, and it causes him to do things like ask Taylor to move in,” co-showrunner Kristen Reidel told TVGuide. “But I think it also kind of opens up this sort of question for him of, ‘Am I settling?'”
Showrunner Kristen Reidel said there will be consequences for Buck’s kiss when Taylor Kelly finds out
9-1-1 Season 5 Episode 11 showed Buck having the intention of telling Taylor about his shared kiss with Lucy — but he failed to come clean. It seems he’ll have to face the truth in the near future, though. Co-showrunner Kristen Reidel teased the truth comes out soon.
“That will have definite repercussions [for Taylor] because Buck has asked her to move in,” Reidel told TVInsider about Taylor learning of the fated kiss. “Did he ask that because he really wants to, or did he ask that because he didn’t know what else to do? That’s actually gonna put Taylor in a bit of a pickle: ‘I love him, but does he even want to be with me?’”
Additionally, Reidel notes Buck felt “a little spark” with Lucy — and “that scares him a little bit.”
Will Buck and Taylor stay together?
So, will Buck and Taylor stay together after 9-1-1 Season 5 Episode 11? Co-showrunner Kristen Reidel told TVInsider Buck and Lucy’s kiss “exposes a crack in his relationship with Taylor, [one] that is going to widen as we move on this season.” This can’t be a good sign for the couple — and it likely means they won’t stay together.
Additionally, Lucy actor Arielle Kebbel spoke to TVInsider about the situation. She teased more interaction between Buck and Lucy in the season 5 finale. “There are some nice moments leading up to the finale where he allows her to support him in a hard moment,” she noted.
9-1-1 Season 5 airs Mondays at 8 p.m. EST on Fox.
