’90 Day Fiancé’: A TLC Producer Had to Step in During Ash Naeck and Avery Warner’s Fight
90 Day Fiancé fans were shocked during a recent episode when Ash Naeck and Avery Warner had an explosive argument. The reality couple butted heads following a disastrous first attempt at a relationship coaching seminar by Naeck. Warner seemed unimpressed by some of Naeck’s viewpoints during the seminar, and Naeck felt as though Warner was belittling him, while Warner felt as though Naeck was unwilling to address key issues. Apparently things got so bad that a TLC producer had to step in.
Ash Naeck bombed relationship seminar
90 Day Fiancé star Ash Naeck professes to be a relationship coach. Naeck decided to hold his first relationship coaching seminar while Avery Warner, his 90 Day Fiancé co-star, attended. Unfortunately for Naeck, things did not go as planned.
Naeck’s seminar involved a breakdown of the male brain and the female brain and how they operate differently — a series of beliefs rooted in sexist stereotypes. Seminar attendees were not impressed.
“Women don’t really understand the way men work, in their brains. If you think of the brain of a man, there’s boxes in his brain. And each box represents something. Now your brain is interlinked so when you’re thinking you’re thinking of many things at a time. Everything is really crazy in your brain. And for a man, it’s completely different,” Naeck started.
He went on to add, “A woman, when it’s something small, it tends to get really big. And for men, our brain is working very different.” Naeck then claimed that men have a “nothing box” in their brain that they like to stay in, and that women like to come and “decorate.”
Avery Warner says there was tension in the room
According to Avery Warner, Ash Naeck’s comments created immediate tension in the room. Warner took to Instagram to answer fan questions about the seminar.
One user asked her, “Were there really a lot of awkward silences during the seminar? Or was it all edited in?”
The 90 Day Fiancé star replied, “The tension in the room was intense, I won’t lie. But I also feel Ash was out of his comfort zone and things didn’t go as planned.”
During the episode, Warner told producers, “It’s only been a few minutes into the seminar and I can feel the room getting tense. It was turning into a subject of like, men are this, and women are this. Which to me, sounds sexist. And I have never gotten that vibe from him previous to this seminar.”
A TLC producer stepped in during the ‘90 Day Fiancé’ fight
Later, Avery Warner and Ash Naeck wound up butting heads. Naeck was clearly still feeling wounded after the seminar crashed and burned.
Avery Warner confronted Naeck about the views he put forward during the seminar. Naeck felt as though Warner was attacking him and belittling him, clearly suffering from a bruised ego following the event.
Naeck asked Warner, “Do I take care of you? Do I make you feel safe? Do I actually make you feel like a woman? Do I make you happy?”
Warner replied, “Yes, but you have to recognize that I’m thinking about moving you all the way to America. But every time I start to try and ask you hard questions, this is how you respond. … Yeah, this whole time we’ve been super happy because all I’ve been doing is avoiding those hard questions. I’m asking you questions about who you are, how you act, what you think. I’m trying to get to know you and then you come at me the way that you’re responding.”
Naeck eventually snapped and attempted to get into a car and leave. A 90 Day Fiancé producer had to step in and confront Naeck. Eventually the producer calmed Naeck down and convinced him to stay.
