’90 Day Fiancé’: Andrei Castravet Is Not the Only 1 to Blame For All the Family Drama
90 Day Fiancé fans have witnessed the rocky relationship between Andrei Castravet and Elizabeth Potthast unfold during the past two seasons of Happily Ever After? Since making their debut in the franchise during season 5 of 90 Day Fiancé, Elizabeth’s family has made it clear they do not approve of the relationship. However, Andrei is not the only one to blame for all of the family drama.
A second wedding in Moldova for the ’90 Day Fiancé’ stars
Andrei and Elizabeth’s relationship quickly blossomed after they connected on a dating app and met up in Dublin back in 2016. The Moldova native moved to Florida to be with Elizabeth, and just one year later they tied the knot. The couple welcomed their daughter Eleanor Louise in January 2019.
Elizabeth’s family has never trusted Andrei, and they have been extremely vocal with their objections to the relationship. They have accused Andrei of being too controlling, suspect he is using Elizabeth for a green card, and his issues with work permits and jobs have caused serious doubts about his ability to support his family.
Even though Andrei and Elizabeth still rely on her family for money they moved forward with their plans for a second wedding in Moldova. With Elizabeth’s dad giving them a budget of $15,000. This additional cost, of course, caused even more tension.
Despite their objections to the relationship, Elizabeth’s family traveled to Moldova for the couple’s second wedding. In Touch Weekly noted that as soon as their plane touched down in Europe, the tension started to escalate.
Tension between Andrei and Elizabeth’s family escalated after they arrived in Moldova
Elizabeth’s dad Chuck Potthast and her brother, Charlie, wasted no time in trying to find out more about Andrei. They started asking his family and friends questions about his past during a dinner, and this enraged the 33-year-old.
This led to a nasty fight between Andrei and Charlie that almost turned violent during the August 9 episode. The two were cursing, taunting, and challenging each other while getting in each other’s faces.
“Get the f**k out. I’ll f**k you up man,” Andrei told Charlie.
To which he responded, “Do it!”
Andrei threatened to take the fight outside, but his friends jumped in to break things up. He finally agreed to sit back down at the dinner table when Elizabeth pulled him away, and the two men cooled down.
“I don’t know what the f**k is going on, but like, they’re both at fault right now and like, that’s no way to behave. This is not OK,” Elizabeth said in her confessional.
’90 Day Fiancé’ fans are starting to turn on Chuck and Charlie Potthast
Chuck and Charlie’s concerns about Andrei and his relationship with Elizabeth do have some merit. But it is clear to fans at this point that Andrei isn’t the only one to blame for the drama.
According to Screen Rant, Charlie was a loud, obnoxious American stereotype during his fight with Andrei in Moldova. He refused to keep his mouth shut – continuing with the name-calling and provocation – and embarrassed himself in front of Andrei’s family and friends.
This wasn’t the best look for an American in a foreign country, but the 90 Day Fiancé star chalked it up to her husband and brother being “similar” and “hot-headed.”
As for Chuck, numerous fans have started to argue that he should keep quiet about his problems with Andrei’s behavior.
Some fans now believe that the Potthast family’s negative behavior toward Andrei has been an attempt to cover up or divert attention away from their own secrets.
