’90 Day Fiancé’: Andrei’s Secret Is Revealed in New ‘Happily Ever After’ Episode
The fifth and most recent season of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? has been following Andrei Castravet and Elizabeth Potthast Castravet as they prepare for their second wedding in Moldova. There’s been a lot of tension not just because of the wedding planning but also because of Elizabeth’s family. Her brother and father are still skeptical of Andrei and believe he’s keeping secrets from them.
The past few episodes have seen them trying to pry answers out of the Moldovan native, but their attempts have been unsuccessful. However, in the latest episode, they were finally able to get more background information on Andrei.
Elizabeth’s family wants to know what Andrei is hiding — if anything
Despite the length of their relationship, Elizabeth’s family still has concerns and doubts about Andrei. They have been asking him about his past, the reason he left Moldova for Ireland, and why he chose to settle down with Elizabeth. But Andrei has not been forthcoming on those subjects.
He has called the line of questioning offensive and even got into a fight with Elizabeth’s family over it in a recent episode when they sat down for dinner.
“Chuck and his son Charlie are asking too many questions. They’re just ******* provocative,” he said in a confessional. “And they’re ******* asking now, like, my friends much deep questions and they’re making jokes on my ******* a**. He’s not my ******* friend so I don’t ******* take that very appropriate.”
Despite his reluctance to broach certain topics, Elizabeth’s family has continually tried to pull more information out of Andrei. Chuck, Charlie, and Jenn took things a step further in the latest episode by secretly meeting up with Andrei’s friend Marcel to try to get their answers.
And Andrei’s secret came out
During the meet-up, Charlie asked Marcel about his time working alongside Andrei as a policeman and why Andrei quit the force and moved to Ireland. Marcel said Andrei had allegedly been forced out after he refused to “play along” with corrupt police officers.
“He wanted to continue his job but he couldn’t anymore because they just wanted to replace him because he wouldn’t do something else, like, another job. They were pushing him so much that he had to leave,” he explained.
Marcel added: “He could get in trouble [if he stayed]. They could set him up…Here in Moldova, the whole police system is rotten. There’s nothing you can do. When you start dancing, you dance ’til the end. You cannot just fight with big people. Someone wanted to get rid of us and that’s it.”
“Yeah, I’m not buying that,” Charlie said. “I’m not buying that dude. You almost make it seem like you guys were the honest ones working in a corrupt police force.”
“Believe me or not, but that’s the truth, yeah,” Marcel replied, before urging them to try talking to Andrei once more for more information.
Elizabeth’s family will meet up with Andrei in the upcoming episode
In a preview for the Sept. 6 episode, Elizabeth’s family is shown meeting up with Andrei and Elizabeth to discuss the latest revelations about his past. It is not known what exactly happened, but Elizabeth told Entertainment Tonight in a recent interview:
“What I can say without giving away too much is that there were surprises that kind of came up and my family is just yet again, digging and digging and digging and bringing it to my attention. You’ll just have to watch, it gets … it was a lot for me and I’m still kind of processing it, too. I was just disappointed at first, but then I understood his intent behind it since he communicated and we kind of talked it out and he explained to me why he said the things he said and did the things he did.”
