Angela Deem refuses to cook for Michael Ilesanmi’s family
Angela is visiting Michael in Nigeria so they can get married, but they have some planning to do first. Michael invites his mother and aunt to their apartment to discuss wedding plans. However, the trouble starts when Michael tells Angela that she’ll have to cook dinner for everyone. Angela insists that she won’t be doing the cooking for the impending dinner, and says that Michael will help in the kitchen instead.
Michael tells the cameras that he thinks his wife should be the one to cook the meals for everyone, and Angela responds that she won’t be doing any of that. “He’ll see, cause I’m not doing none of that s***,” Angela says in front of Michael.
“First of all, I didn’t come to Nigeria to be the cooker. I’m not cooking a d*** thing,” Angela explains.
Angela goes to a market with Michael, and it’s an eventful experience
They arrive at a Nigerian market, and Angela seems to be horrified by what she sees there. She says she usually goes to a grocery store to get her food, and this is certainly not what she’s used to. Angela says they’ll just order pizza.
When they get to the meat area, Angela can’t take much more. She says she doesn’t want any meat, but walks through the main aisle anyway. She ends up throwing up a little from the experience. Angela says she can’t live like this, and it’s clear she’s struggling.
How Angela comes through for Michael’s family with dinner in a very American way
Before Michael’s family arrives, he’s busy in the kitchen attempting to cook dinner. Angela ordered a pizza, and says that’s the only contribution she’s making towards the dinner. The guests finally arrive and see Michael cooking, and his mother finds it unusual. Angela explains she doesn’t have time to cook.
However, Michael’s aunt tells him that his mother is old, and she can’t eat the kind of food he prepared for them. Angela brings out the pizza, and she says she knew the “back-up would work.” It’s a big hit, and Michael’s mother can eat it, and she says she even likes it. Angela shows them how to pick up the pizza and eat it, and Michael’s mother says that’s how she wants to eat it too. So they all partake in the pizza the way most people choose to eat it, by holding the entire slice in their hands.
Angela came through for dinner in a very American way with pizza, and it turned out to be a hit with Michael’s family. We’ll keep you updated on all the latest having to do with Angela’s stay in Nigeria with Michael.
