’90 Day Fiancé’: Are Biniyam and Ariela Married or Engaged?
90 Day Fiancé stars Biniyam Shibre, a dancer and choreographer from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and Ariela Weinberg, from Princeton, New Jersey, hit it off right away after they met in Biniyam’s home country. Ariela realized she was pregnant with their son, Avi, after just a few months of dating.
On the second season of TLC’s 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way, Ariela moved to Ethiopia before she gave birth to Avi. A month after Avi’s birth, Biniyam proposed to Ariela during a celebration of the Ethiopian Orthodox holiday of Timkat.
But are Biniyam and Ariela married now – or still just engaged? Domenick Nati of The Domenick Nati Show questioned Biniyam about a ring he was sporting on his recent brief interview with the 90 Day Fiancé star.

On Feb. 8, Biniyam went live for a few minutes on The Domenick Nati Show.
Naturally, Nati’s first question was whether he and Ariela were still together. Biniyam confirmed that, yes, he and Ariela were together and doing well in their relationship.
The 90 Day Fiancé star admitted that it “wasn’t perfect” and they still had things they were “working on.” However, Ariela and Biniyam loved each other and were committed to making things work.

Next, Nati asked about Biniyam and Ariela’s wedding plans. According to Biniyam, they didn’t have any just yet. He said he still “didn’t know” when their wedding would take place, especially because of COVID-19.
But, Nati asked: Were they still engaged and planning on getting married?
“Of course we are,” Biniyam told Nati, looking a bit uncomfortable. “Everybody knows we’re engaged.”
“OK, because I see a ring on your finger,” Nati challenged him, pointing out a ring on what appeared to be Biniyam’s right hand. “Is that a wedding band?”
The 90 Day Fiancé star seemed confused and asked what Nati meant. He showed the ring, but claimed it was just for his engagement to Ariela – not marriage. He added that it was part of his culture for both parties to wear engagement rings after a proposal.
Nati wasn’t convinced, but a language barrier or cultural differences could have contributed to the confusion. Or, as some 90 Day Fiancé fans pointed out, Biniyam might have a non-disclosure agreement with TLC if he plans on airing more of his love story with Ari.
He said he hoped to have a baby girl next
Nati also wanted to know if Biniyam was planning on having more kids with Ariela.
“I don’t have plans for more kids,” the 90 Day Fiancé star replied, “but of course, one day I hope I will have another baby. Maybe a baby girl. I already have two boys; I need a baby girl.”
Avi is Biniyam’s second son. His first child, also a boy, was with his former wife. She, too, hailed from the U.S. and returned to her home country after her divorce from Biniyam.
Bu the brief conversation didn’t end too well. Biniyam, possibly put off by the bad connection or the line of questioning, ended the call. He commented in the chat, “I said before no interview” – possibly implying that he wasn’t happy with all the inquiries.
