’90 Day Fiancé: Ariela’s Feud With Biniyam’s Sisters Mimi and Wish Explained
In the first look trailer for the upcoming 90 Day Fiancé Season 9, Ariela Weinberg and Biniyam Shibre face-off with his sisters, Mimi and Wish. In the clip, Wish throws a full glass of red wine in Ariela’s face before storming off. There’s two seasons’ worth of feuding between Ariela and Biniyam’s sisters — let’s unpack it.
Biniyam’s sisters pressure Ariela to baptize Avi
During 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way Season 2, Ariela discusses the possibility of their son, Avi, being baptized in Biniyam’s faith, Ethiopian Orthodox Christianity. However, Ariela comes from a Jewish family and planned to raise Avi with the same faith.
When her parents came to visit, Ariela was going back on the idea of baptizing Avi. She mentioned feeling pressured by Binyam’s sisters than from Biniyam himself. Ariela was frustrated that Biniyam didn’t stop his sisters from pressuring her.
Wish and Mimi think Ariela will take Avi from Biniyam
In 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way Season 3, Ariela caused tensions when she invited her ex-husband, Leandro, to her and Biniyam’s home in Ethiopia. Binyam’s family was concerned that Ariela had residual feelings for her ex and planned to run off with him.
Biniyam’s sisters made their concerns about Leandro’s visit very clear. They called out Leandro for staying with Ariela in New Jersey while she was pregnant with Avi.
Ariela defended her friendship with Leandro, saying, “Honestly, he’s my best friend.” She tells Mimi and Wish, “And honestly, I feel lonely because you don’t trust me. You always think I’m going to take the baby [and] I’m going to leave. You think I’m going to hurt your brother.”
Wish tells Ariela that Biniyam is cheating on her
When Ariela went to New Jersey to get Avi an emergency hernia surgery, Biniyam couldn’t come with her because of his issues getting a visa to the US. Ariela and Biniyam’s relationship became strained. Ariela refuses to return to Ethiopia and accuses Biniyam of being unfaithful.
Ariela revealed that his sister, Wish, informed her that Biniyam was out with other women. She said, “Wish is the one who told me that you had other women in my house and that you’ve been around with other girls.”
Ariela tells Biniyam, “Wish is the one who told me that, and so did your friends. So, you think you’re being sneaky? Everyone sees you. Everyone sees your behavior.” She continues, “Everyone knows about you. You know, for the health and safety of your family, you should consider getting tested.”
Ariela cuts Biniyam’s sisters from her life
The breaking point for Ariela and Biniyam’s sister’s relationship happened during The Other Way Season 3 tell-all finale. Ariela accused Wish of attempting to sabotage her relationship with Biniyam.
Wish backtracked and denied ever explicitly saying that Biniyam was cheating. She claimed that Ariela jumped to that incorrect conclusion on her own.
Biniyam’s sisters claim that Avi’s live-in nanny gives Ariela and Biniyam bad relationship advice. Wish said, “Ariela always lets other people meddle in their relationship, and she surrounds herself with people that Bini doesn’t like.”
Ariela claps back, telling Mimi and Wish to take their own advice and stop involving themselves in their relationship. She says, “You’ve always tried to poison my mind against your brother. You never wanted this relationship to work out.”
Ariela ends the conversation, “I never ever, ever want to speak to either of you again. You guys are pathetic. You are not my family. I do not want you in my life.” She then walks off the tell-all set.
Now that Biniyam is moving to the United States to be with Ariela on a K-1 visa, could it be that Mimi and Wish are worried that they will lose contact with their brother and nephew? Fans will have to wait and see what the reason was for wish throwing wine in Ariela’s face.
