’90 Day Fiancé’: Armando Reveals Exactly What Happened to His Ex-Wife
Armando Rubio and Kenneth Niedermeier have become fan favorites on 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way. Their love for one another shines through the screen and has fans cheering for their relationship. But before Kenny stepped onto the scene, Armando was married. The reality star was previously married to a woman. He mentioned last season that his ex-wife was killed in a car accident, but now he has elaborated on what happened.
Why didn’t Armando tell his wife’s story on ’90 Day Fiancé’?
On Armando’s first season of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way, he chose not to share all of the details surrounding his first wife’s death. This was intentional on his part.
“This message is to clear up my daughter’s mother’s passing,” he recently wrote in his Instagram Story. “I am addressing this to clear up any confusion as I did not want to go into specifics on the show but now I find it necessary.”
How did Armando’s wife die?
Armando and his ex were already separated when she died.
My then wife and I had been separated for a few months before her passing for a number of reasons, one of which was anger issues she was working on. During our separation, we were working on rebuilding our friendship again…During the divorce proceedings and on the evening of her passing, a disagreement took place over finances and I thought it would be best to leave the situation and return back to my home. After that, 15-20 minutes later, I was driving down the highway and I was shocked when I was suddenly struck from behind and then was hit again. As I continued down the highway I then realized it was my ex-wife and before I knew it she lost control of her vehicle and passed away on the scene.

He went on to explain how traumatic the accident and its after-effects have been for him and his daughter.
“As you can understand, this was a very tragic event in the life of my daughter and I as we lost her and an unborn baby,” he continued. “This was a very difficult moment for everyone involved, myself, our family, our friends and has been a long grieving process and out of respect for my daughter’s mother and her memory I ask for your empathy and understanding on this personal tragedy.”

After Armando’s ex-wife died, he and Kenny met on a Facebook page for gay dads. After the two fell in love, they decided that Kenny would move to Mexico to start a life with Armando and his daughter. It has been a long adjustment period for Kenny in Mexico, however, the two have been working through all of the issues that come their way.
The biggest issue for the couple has been getting Armando’s family, namely, his father to accept their union. Armando’s father initially maintained that he would not attend Armando and Kenny’s wedding. However, he recently changed his mind. So, it looks like things could be looking up for Armando and Kenny.
