’90 Day Fiancé’ Sneak Peek: Asuelu Confronts His Mother About What She Said to Kalani
On 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After, Kalani Faagata and Asuelu Pulaa have certainly been going through a lot. Their marriage is strained right now, and it’s a tough time for them both. After going on a trip to Washington to visit Asuelu’s family, money gets brought up, and it makes things really tense. Asuelu’s family asks for $1,000 from him. However, he only has $100 to give, and it leads to conflict.
Kalani even takes the time to speak with Asuelu’s mother, Lesina, and his sister, Tammy, about the situation, but it only makes things even more heated between them. Now that Kalani and Asuelu are back home in Utah and fresh from a therapy appointment, Asuelu feels it’s the right time to invite his mother and sisters to visit them.
Asuelu Pulaa picks his mother and sister up from the airport
Asuelu invites his family to come visit them in Utah, and he picks up Lesina and his sister, Rosa, from the airport. Tammy plans to come later separately. They all hug and embrace, and things seem to be going OK, at least at first.
Lesina asks where Kalani and the children are, and Asuelu explains that they stayed home. They go to the hotel and check-in, and have a chat in their room.
Asuelu confronts his mother about what she said to Kalani
Lesina asks about Kalani, and if she doesn’t want to come and see them. “Is she still mad?” Lesina inquires.
“Kalani told me that you told Kalani that I should go to Samoa. And I want to know why you guys say that to my wife,” Asuelu bluntly says to his mother.
Lesina mentions that Kalani doesn’t want to send money to her. “So you want us to divorce, and you don’t love our kids? Your grandkids?” Asuelu asks his mother.
Lesina replies that she wants Asuelu to be strong. “You can stand by yourself,” Lesina says.
Asuelu isn’t having it though. He tells her that he wants her to “calm down,” and to apologize to his wife for the things that were said. Will Kalani get an apology? It’s unclear at this point, considering Lesina doesn’t agree to it during the conversation.
‘You put your wife first in your mind’
Lesina tells her son that she sees what has happened. “You put your wife first in your mind,” Lesina tells Asuelu. “So what about your mom? That’s why I need divorce, please.”
Asuelu doesn’t think his mother should be saying that, and it’s clear things are getting heated with the topic of divorce. Asuelu tries to explain that if his mother loves him, then she loves Kalani as well.
“Maybe if Kalani knows Asuelu will divorce her, she’ll be scared, and she will become a good wife to Asuelu,” Lesina reasons to producers.
She asks her son if he will come tomorrow, and he says they will all meet, including Kalani’s family. But, he doesn’t want any issues.
Asuelu says he is “worried” about what could happen in the meeting between the families. Will it be a cordial talk? We’ll have to wait and see how it all plays out.
