On 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After, Kalani Faagata and Asuelu Pulaa have been going through a lot more than their fair share of drama. After an emotional trip to Washington to visit with Asuelu’s family, the topic of money comes up, and it leads to some major tension. When Asuelu’s family asks for $1,000 but Asuelu only offers up $100, problems arise.
Kalani even speaks with Asuelu’s mother, Lesina, and his sister, Tammy, about the whole thing. However, that leads to a major blow-up. This week, Asuelu has invited his family to Utah to visit him, and they all get together to talk things out. Read on to learn how it goes and the situation surrounding Asuelu’s mother’s apology to Kalani.
Kalani and Asuelu’s families get together
After being home in Utah for a little while since the events in Washington, Asuelu invites his mother and two sisters to visit him. Lesina, Tammy, and Rosa all go with Asuelu to a restaurant where they eat a meal with Kalani, her children, and her parents. Asuelu wants to talk things through altogether, but it’s unclear how things will go.
They all show up, and it seems to be going OK so far. They greet one another, and sit down for a chat. They make small talk about the trip, and Asuelu thanks everyone for getting together. Kalani says she “wants answers” and that she was “disrespected.”
Tammy says Kalani wasn’t disrespected. “You told us what is in your mind,” Lesina replies. “You hated what I need from my son, and you’re not obeying what I want.”
‘They can’t give you what they don’t have’
Tammy says she supports her mother, and also mentions that she feels Kalani controls Asuelu not to send money to their parents. Then she mentions the $1,000 the family was expecting when Asuelu and Kalani only had $100 to contribute.
Kalani explains yet again that they don’t have the money to give them. Next, Kalani’s father, Low, gets involved. “You can’t send all your money back to Samoa and let your family starve,” he tells them.
“What happened to you?” Lesina asks her son. “Now you’re here in America. So you better give more money for me.”
Kalani’s mother, Lisa, questions whether Kalani and Asuelu are just supposed to fight so Asuelu’s mother will be happy, and Tammy asks Lisa why she’s asking her mother that. “Tammy, why are you butting in?” Lisa asks. “They can’t give you what they don’t have.”
Asuelu’s mother apologizes to Kalani
Asuelu asks why they are trying to “pressure” him, and that it makes him and his wife argue. “If you don’t agree with what I say, I will cross Samoa in my bank account,” he tells his mother.
“Because I am your mom,” Lesina replies to her son. “I love you so much, I don’t want to lose you from my hands. If I ask you money, and you think it’s not OK, it’s up to you.”
Next, Kalani gets an apology from Asuelu’s mother after everything that was said. “I’m sorry Kalani. I’m sorry for everything,” Lesina tells her.
Kalani thanks Asuelu’s mother for apologizing, and she apologizes in return. However, when Asuelu asks Tammy if she agrees, she says she won’t be apologizing because she doesn’t think she said anything wrong.
We’ll have to wait and see how things progress for Kalani and Asuelu in the future.
