’90 Day Fiancé’: Asuelu’s Sister Explains Why She’ll Never Apologize for Attacking Kalani in Fight Over Money
Asuelu Pulaa’s sister Tammy doesn’t seem to have any regrets about the fallout between her and Kalani Fagaata.
Over the past few episodes of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? the two have been in a back-and-forth over money that culminated in Tammy trying to assault her sister-in-law. When they sat down on the most recent program to hash out their problems, Tammy refused to apologize for her part in the drama, explaining that she stands by everything she said.
The drama between Kalani and Tammy goes back a few episodes
Tensions started to rise after Asuelu’s mom and sister asked the couple for $1,000. They explained that as a Samoan man, Asuelu should regularly provide monetary support to his parents. But the pair had other financial responsibilities that prohibited them from offering up such a huge amount of money.
They explained that to his family, only to be criticized and continually asked to honor their request. Kalani took much of the blame, as his family felt that she was “controlling” Asuelu and blocking him from taking care of them like he did before they married.
The drama became so heated that Tammy tried to attack Kalani in a recent episode when she once again refused to pay them the money. It was a turning point that ultimately motivated Kalani and Asuelu to try and mend their relationship with his family.
Asuelu’s family went to meet up with Kalani and her family in a recent episode
When his family came into town, Asuelu drove them over to a local restaurant to meet with Kalani and her parents. On the way, he shared his hopes for the sit-down.
“I want both families to talk. Kalani didn’t do anything wrong to me or you guys, so I want you guys to come here to go and apologize,” he told Tammy and his mom.
“I don’t have to apologize to Kalani. I didn’t do anything. I just stand up for you,” Tammy shot back.
When Asuelu pointed out the “bad” comments she made about their relationship, including that they needed to divorce, she continued: “Whatever that I feel that I know is right, I just let it out, just tell her how I feel.”
“There’s a lot of things that I don’t like about Kalani,” she said in a confessional, “[like] the time my family ask for money or for help Asuelu will always say he can’t. And I feel like she’s the one that control over him and tells him what to do. But Kalani knew that this is the Samoan life. She get herself into it.”
Trying to level with her, Asuelu then asked if she could at least try to get along with Kalani since she refused to apologize. She frowned from the backseat as he continued to complain about how “sick” he was of the drama between them.
Tammy was not receptive to Asuelu and Kalani’s attempts to smooth things over
At the restaurant, the families started going over the conflict amongst them. Tammy repeated her belief that Kalani was controlling Asuelu and that he should do more for his family as their mom agreed.
Interrupting, Asuelu said, “Why you pressure me? It makes us fight and I don’t want that … If you don’t agree to what I say, I will cross Samoa in my bank account.”
“In Samoa, we respect our parents, but now I against what my mom says because it’s very important for me to take care of my wife and kids first and try to, like, fix my marriage,” he added in a confessional.
After a while, Asuelu’s mom grew to understand his position and apologized to Kalani for the drama that had happened between them. However, Tammy did not.
“I’m not gonna be apologizing to Kalani about everything that happened in Washington. I don’t have anything wrong that I said,” she continued, before complaining to cameras that Asuelu “forgot” where he came from and that Kalani is not “good” for him.
Later, she flew home without saying goodbye to the couple. Fans can see the aftermath of that on the next episode of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? on Sept. 20.
