’90 Day Fiancé’: Asuelu’s Sister Tries to Fight Kalani Over Money in ‘Happily Ever After’ Sneak Peek
Things are getting more heated on 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? when it comes to Asuelu Pulaa’s family drama.
Asuelu and his wife Kalani Fagaata have been at odds with his mother and sister for the past few episodes due to the couple’s inability to fully support them. Tensions appear to peak in the upcoming episode of the show when Kalani nearly came to blows with Asuelu’s sister over the ongoing financial dispute. The two are shown arguing over money before Asuelu’s sister attempts to take a swipe at Kalani.
Asuelu’s family wants him and Kalani to financially support them
A few episodes back, Asuelu’s mother asked Asuelu to bring her $1000 at her home in Washington. Kalani didn’t feel comfortable with the payout, given that she and Asuelu have two kids to support and other financial obligations. But Asuelu explained that, in Samoan culture, it is customary to provide money to one’s parents.
The couple continued to go back-and-forth about it across several episodes before coming to an agreement to bring Asuelu’s family’s gifts and $100.
After they arrived in Washington, Asuelu’s mother was upset to learn she would not get the full amount of money she’d requested. Even though they tried to reason with them, she and Asuelu’s sister criticized Asuelu for not honoring Samoan culture before getting up and walking away from the table.
The drama between them continued to escalate
In the Aug. 16 episode of the show, Asuelu got into another argument with his family about the money. He had been trying to tell them why he couldn’t provide more financial support when his sister interrupted and urged him to try harder.
As Asuelu continued to defend himself, his sister questioned if he was being controlled by Kalani. She continued to press him over the funds until Asuelu got up and left.
“My sister hate Kalani and I can’t fix it so I just leave the house and go back to see my wife,” he said in a confessional. “I love my family and I love my wife and I think that I can’t have both.”
His mom later approached him to try to convince Asuelu to provide more money, but he stood his ground. The episode ended with no real resolution between either party.
Kalani gets into a fight with Asuelu’s sister on the next episode of ‘Happily Ever After’
In a clip that aired at the end of the Aug. 16 episode, Kalani was shown having a conversation with Asuelu’s family about their request for money.
“I just don’t know why you all feel entitled to me and my family’s money,” she said.
Her in-laws appeared irritated as she spoke and quickly sounded off on Kalani. Asuelu’s sister accused her of brainwashing Asuelu as his mom said, “I want my son to do his duty as before.”
Kalani grew more and more annoyed with the conversation before saying, “I’m done. I don’t want to have anything to do with it.” As she stepped aside to walk away, Asuelu’s sister lunged at her while her mom tried to grab her arm to hold her back.
The video cuts to a clip of Kalani telling Asuelu about the altercation, telling him, “If your sister would have touched my f*cking body, I would have dropped her. Period.”
