’90 Day Fiancé’: Avery Warner Reveals That Some of the Show May Have Been Fake
People are not too forgiving when it comes to the cast of 90 Day Fiancé. Fans choose who they like early on in each season, and pretty much stick to their views. But some former cast members have come out and claimed that the show’s portrayal of them wasn’t exactly true. Avery Warner is the latest member of the cast to call out TLC for their editing.
What happened with Avery on ’90 Day Fiancé’?
Warner was on the show with her ex-boyfriend Ash Naeck. The two had a rocky relationship even before she went to Australia to visit him. While in Australia, Warner realized that she and Naeck had quite different views on gender roles and that Naeck had a habit of embellishing the truth. For instance, he told her that he had been divorced for 10 years when really he had only been divorced for one, and he alleged that his ex-wife was fine with him bringing their son to America, when she absolutely was not.
When the season ended, Naeck was working on getting his Australian passport so that he could visit Warner in America. By the time the reunion came around, the two had called it quits.
Avery calls out TLC
Warner didn’t have one of the worst edits on her season, but she certainly didn’t come out of the season with a huge group of supporters.
“Is it just me but wasn’t Avery super sweet, intelligent, and compassionate during her trip to Australia?” one person recently commented on one of Warner’s pictures. “Watching [Before the 90 Days], she seems like a totally different person, intoxicated, swearing, completely different from the person we saw initially. I hope she hasn’t let Ash harden her.”
Warner actually responded to the fan’s comment.
“Can’t always believe what you see on TV,” she wrote. “You guys get 5% of the real story, and that’s constructed how the network wants the people to view the person. I encourage everyone not to get so caught up with any kind of TV show as the truth, it’s not worth it lol, it’s all very constructed.”
Other stars who have called TLC out
Warner isn’t the only one who has blasted the network for editing or enhancing their storyline.
Jay Smith and Ashley Martson got into a huge fight on their season after Martson found out that Smith had been on Tinder, inviting girls over while Martson was at work. Recently, Smith came out and said that that whole situation wasn’t real.
“The Tinder incident that happened, that was staged because without drama you don’t have a show,” he told InTouch. “The Tinder scandal, it was just an act so it was easy to move [past it] because you know, we just act on the TV and after … that was it.”
He was also accused of cheating on Martson with a woman in a barbershop bathroom.
“To my knowledge, they got paid to do that,” he said of the women. “They got paid $500 each to do that and the reason why that happened in the bathroom is because there was a lot that Ash and I was going through … and I just couldn’t take it anymore so I decided to do my own thing.”
Michael Jessen and Emily Larina of season 7 of 90 Day Fiancé have also accused the show of over-editing.
