’90 Day Fiance’: Babygirl Lisa Hamme Has Been Receiving Death Threats for Something She Did to Usman Umar
There have been quite a few questionable cast members on this season of 90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days. Before the show even began airing, fans had found records of Geoffrey Paschel’s checkered criminal history so people were already against him when the season started. But Babygirl Lisa Hamme’s downfall was a little slower.
It wasn’t until she started treating her boyfriend Usman Umar like an unpaid intern that people started to question her and then when it was later revealed that she called Umar the N-word, fans were completely done with her.
Lisa Hamme and Usman Umar’s relationship
Hamme and Umar met through a mutual friend. They began messaging online so that Hamme could make sure that Umar wasn’t a “yahoo boy,” which is a common term used for scammers.
“I was 49 and Usman was 29 when we first met,” Hamme said in an interview with Without a Crystal Ball. “And when we first met, I’ll be honest with you…I honestly thought, oh, great, another yahoo boy out of Nigeria that’s going to harass me to no end. And I gave him the benefit of the doubt because I don’t like that stigma.”
Once they got together, Umar proposed to Hamme and she flew to Nigeria. During her visit, Hamme and Umar got into so many arguments that it was never clear if Umar actually wanted to marry her. Hamme often talked to Umar like a child and tried to control him, which made the couple hard to watch on the show.
Past instances of racism
You may think that someone who enters into an interracial relationship would be more cognizant of racial issues and not use derogatory language but Hamme has been documented using the n-word on multiple occasions on her social media. A petition has even been created to punish her for using the word.
“Past cast members have been terminated for homophobic slurs, and the same standards should apply for when racist slurs are used,” one of the petitions reads. “TLC should not employ these people regardless of how much attention they get. To keep her shows they condone it and have selective preferences. She has been documented saying the slur and admitted it on social media. THIS IS NOT OKAY. Make the right choice TLC.”
Lisa tries to stop Usman from telling the truth
In leaked footage from the “Tell-All,” Hamme tried to stop Umar from revealing a secret.
“If you start this sh*t again,” she said. “Do not open that can of worms. Do not. Do not start. Let me tell you something. Listen, if you open a can of worms.”
But, Umar kept talking anyway.
“Lisa, last week you called me n*gger which I know is totally inappropriate in America,” he said. “You called me n*gger, I don’t even get angry about it because I am used to how you are behaving.”
Lisa Hamme says she’s received death threats
Hamme has been having a hard time dealing with fans of the show.
“I’ve been receiving a lot of death threats and hate due to fans who completely obsess over the show,” she said on The Domenick Nati Show. “They constantly watch it over and over. I’m 53-year-old married to a 31-year-old man. There’s a lot of hate there. Because my husband is very good looking.”
And as far as her calling Umar the N-word, she said she and her husband are already over it.
“No, that word was used out of context and out of stupidity,” she said. “My husband accepted my apology, but haters don’t and they want to ride it out to no end.”
