This season of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days has been wild, to say the least. Between Gino and Jasmine’s blowup, after he sent nude photos of her to his ex-girlfriend, and Ben’s runaway train story for Mahogany, the ridiculous moments continue to pile up. Many fans didn’t believe Ben’s girlfriend Mahogany existed, but she surprised everyone when she met him at the restaurant. However, in the Feb. 27 episode, fans rolled their eyes once again.
‘Before the 90 Days’ couple Ben and Mahogany have had a stranger relationship from the start
Before the 90 Days waited several episodes before introducing audiences to Ben and Mahogany. Fifty-two-year-old Ben lives in Fraser, Michigan. As a former pastor, the 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days Season 5 star feels strongly about his relationship with God. However, the conservative religious sect he preached to is in his rearview mirror. He escaped from the confinement of that religion and divorced his wife, but troubled times lay ahead for Ben. He experienced homelessness before eventually landing a gig as a model. A fitness magazine hired Ben for modeling work, and that’s how his relationship with Mahogany began.
However, when he told his friends about his relationship with Mahogany in an episode of Before the 90 Days, they became apprehensive and thought Mahogany was catfishing Ben. Ben traveled to Mahogany’s hometown of San Bartolo, Peru, despite her asking him not to come. Ever since then, Ben has continued to give fans an uncomfortable vibe.
After Mahogany refused to meet up with Ben at the airport, he continued to text her and explained he’d like for the two to meet at a restaurant. After what seemed like hours, Mahogany showed up. The Before the 90 Days star explained that her parents felt unsure of Ben’s intentions, but he pressed her on the matter and asked to meet them. She agreed, but fans quickly noticed several oddities when he arrived at the place she called home.
Fans believe Mahogany rented an AirBnB and pretended she lived there
AirBnBs often come with specific amenities. One of the most noticeable are bedrooms with bunk beds. This allows renters to provide more sleeping spaces in a vacation rental. Although, it’s not something one would typically see in the apartment of a young, single girl. Before the 90 Days fans quickly took to Reddit with their comments.
One Redditor wrote, “Literally every AirBandB telltale sign! Bunk beds, naked bookcases, stacks of board games, bare walls, random impersonal decorations, no photos, empty tables & nightstands, bare kitchen counters, bathtub & sink with no products… just like a 24/22 year old woman lives.”
Another commenter had similar thoughts, “As I was observing the interaction and “tour” of her apartment, I seriously think that the apartment is not actually hers and rather an Airbnb. It is bare, without personality, hardly lived in, and generic enough to please anyone’s taste while traveling.”
Some ‘Before the 90 Days’ fans understand Mahogany’s line of thinking after Ben insisted on meeting up with Mahogany despite her hesitation
Before the 90 Days star Mahogany specifically asked Ben not to visit her in Peru before leaving the States. However, his determination won out, and he boarded the plane anyway. Some audience members feel like Ben overstepped his bounds in an already tense situation.
“Honestly, I don’t blame her for not bringing this total creep to her actual residence. I think she’s acting about as “normal” as can be expected after a 52-year-old man shows up to your country after telling him not to come and blowing her up with all the ‘I love yous,'” another Redditor explained.
