90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days Season 5 premieres on Dec. 12, and fans will have seven new couples to watch. This season brings us only one returning cast member, Usman “Sojaboy” Umar. Viewers may remember his first stint on the show when he was engaged to “Baby Girl” Lisa Hamme.
However, the rest of the couples are all fresh faces ready to find love. Before the 90 Days Season 5 also features the first little person cast member, named Alina. Here’s what we know about Caleb and Alina.
Who is Caleb on ‘90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days’ Season 5?
Caleb is from Chandler, Arizona, and is 28 years old. He and Alina met differently from most couples on Before the 90 Days. The two started chatting when Caleb was a teenager. He and Alina met on social media and developed a friendship by exchanging messages. Unfortunately, they lost touch over the years and 13 years passed before they reconnected.
Caleb made plans to visit Russia and joined an international dating app to meet some people before leaving. He was surprised when he matched with his old friend, Alina. Caleb’s trip to Russia ultimately fell through, but it was enough for him and Alina to rekindle their friendship and discover they both wanted something deeper.
Who is Alina on ‘90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days’ Season 5?
Twenty-seven-year-old Alina hails from St. Petersburg, Russia. Alina’s passion is music, and she already has songs on Spotify and Apple Music. As a little person, Alina often can’t stand or walk for long periods of time due to her condition. This means she spends some of her time in a wheelchair. However, she lets none of this get in the way of what she wants.
In the Before the 90 Days Season 5 teaser trailer, Alina confesses to the cameras that she does have concerns about Caleb and her meeting in real life. She’s afraid he might have trouble adjusting to her different needs. When meeting in person for the first time, Alina asks Caleb if “it’s weird,” referring to her small stature. He responds, “You’re a lot smaller than I expected. It’s different.” However, it doesn’t seem like their height difference is at the center of the couple’s troubles.
Is Alina keeping a secret from Caleb in the upcoming season?
Long-distance relationships have their fair share of problems, and often those problems come back to trust issues. Without daily in-person contact, the couples on Before the 90 Days often let their jealousy get the best of them. It looks like Caleb and Alina might run into the same problem.
Alina’s friend alludes to her keeping a “big secret” from Caleb in one of the teaser trailers. In one clip, Caleb tells the cameras, “I want a relationship where I can trust my partner when she’s halfway across the world.” The next scene shows the two lying in bed with one another as Alina looks up at Caleb with an unsure expression.
