’90 Day Fiancé’: Big Ed Hurts Rose’s Feelings Over STD Test
90 Day Fiancé star Big Ed lost some major respect from fans and Rose alike during a recent episode of the hit TLC franchise. Ed seemed to reveal a bevy of trust issues when it came to Rose’s past, which many fans found ironic given the fact that Ed cheated on his ex-wife in the past. However, the request that really put the icing on the cake for Rose was when Ed asked her to get an STD test — but seemed unwilling to do the same himself.
Big Ed cheated on his wife
Though Big Ed seems to have some major concerns over Rose’s past and her trustworthiness, he doesn’t have a spotless past himself. In fact, Ed was married before, and divorced after his infidelity. This has some 90 Day Fiancé fans feeling as if he is projecting onto Rose when it comes to her past.
Ed’s marriage lasted only two years. He and his wife divorced after he was unfaithful, though he did not disclose additional details about the event. However, he does have a daughter from his previous marriage, Tiffany.
Tiffany is now 29 years old, older even than Rose. Ed claims raising his daughter meant putting dating on hold for almost 30 years. However, the fact that he is so hung up on Rose’s past as well as who she does or doesn’t talk to on social media has many fans wondering if he’s simply projecting insecurity as a result of his own infidelity in the past.
What’s more, he has also lied to Rose prior to meeting her. He lied to her about his appearance, including his height. He’s also been hiding from her the fact that he wants a vasectomy, where Rose wants additional children in the future.
Big Ed asks Rose to get an STD test
Despite Big Ed’s lying and past infidelity, he’s very hung up on Rose and whether or not she’s friends with any exes on social media. The 90 Day Fiancé star also seems obsessed with the idea of making sure Rose gets an STD test.
However, it seems as if he himself is unwilling to have the test done — he only expects Rose to get tested. Rose was shocked when Ed asked her to get tested. It seemed as if getting tested was a requirement for Rose to convince Ed to let the past go.
Rose told producers, “I’m disappointed. I feel hurt. My heart crack.”
Rose told Ed that if he wants her to get an STD test, he must do the same. Ed seemed to deflect by telling Rose that he felt as if she wasn’t being honest with him — despite the fact that Ed had lied to Rose already.
Rose felt hurt by Ed’s demands, and explained as much to him. She told him that she loves him, but that she’ll be going home by herself tonight.
90 Day Fiancé fans react to Big Ed’s behavior
90 Day Fiancé fans were not impressed with Ed’s behavior when it came to the STD test and Rose’s past.
One user suggested that Ed isn’t looking for a relationship, he’s looking for someone to control. They wrote, “It’s the reason men go to the Philippines for a wife. These kind of men believe that ‘American women are too uppity.’ They are not looking for a human being, they are looking for a doll.”
Another user pointed out Ed’s hypocrisy, adding, “He cheated and then dared to complain that ‘he hasn’t had love in a long time’ and THEN stormed off by saying “love isn’t real.” Like c’mon dude you had your sh*t together and YOU blew it by yourself… Ed is such an idiot.”
