’90 Day Fiance’: Big Ed Reportedly Filed for Bankruptcy Twice Before Meeting Rose
Big Ed Brown and Rose Vega were one of the most talked-about couples on this season of 90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days. Big Ed has faced a fair share of criticism for his cavalier attitude around Rose. But now, new reports suggest that he might have been bankrupt before he met her.
What happened between Big Ed and Rose on ’90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days’?
From the moment Big Ed and Rose met, fans had an inkling that their relationship was doomed. The two first started talking to each other on Facebook. Big Ed, who is almost double Rose’s age, then flew to the Phillippines to meet her while 90 Day Fiance cameras were rolling.
Upon meeting Rose in person, Big Ed starts their relationship with a series of insulting gestures. He asks her to brush her teeth because her breath smells bad, requests that she shave her legs, and then asks her to take an STD test. But what eventually throws Rose for a loop is when Big Ed tells her he doesn’t want to have kids.
Rose has a son from a previous relationship, and Big Ed has an adult daughter. When she tells him that she’d like to have a daughter someday, Big Ed confesses that he’s planning on getting a vasectomy.
After all the lies he told her, including about his height, and his admission about not wanting children, Rose ultimately decides that she’s done with Big Ed. “You always embarrass me, and make me feel small,” she says to him on the show. “I think that you do not love me.”
Reports suggest Big Ed filed for bankruptcy twice before going on ’90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days’
According to a report posted on the @celebtm Instagram account, Big Ed filed for bankruptcy on two separate occasions. As suggested by the documents the outlet obtained, the reality star filed for “Chapter 7 Bankruptcy” in 2004 with “over $133,827.30 in liabilities.” And in 2017, he filed for bankruptcy once again, this time for “$185,704.”
The post was also shared by 90 Day Fiance blogger John Yates on his Twitter page. And in his tweet, he questioned if Big Ed’s financial struggles explained his current living situation.
“So Ed was broke,” Yates wrote in his tweet. “Could this be a reason why his mom lives with him?”
The reality star is not well-liked by fans or co-stars
After seeing the way Big Ed treated Rose, fans weren’t happy with the reality star. But his 90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days co-stars also have plenty to say about his behavior on the show.
In a recent Youtube interview with the Domenick Nati Show, Cortney Reardanz pointed out that Big Ed insinuated Rose was only interested in him for money. But she believes he was actually using Rose to get ahead.
“He went to a third world country and then he acted like, ‘Ew, you’re poor’ basically,” said Cortney. “I felt so bad for her and her family. They opened their home to him and I feel like he just kind of exploited them — He’s acting like, ‘Oh, she wants to use me,’ but then he is the one tearing her down, and he is the one using her.”
Cortney also said that if Big Ed wanted to, he could have helped Rose’s family out. “He saw how her family lived and they’re struggling,” she said. “And then he went there and ate the family’s food. And then didn’t do anything to contribute or offer the family a meal, or offer them an Airbnb or do something nice, even bring a gift to the family.”
Big Ed hasn’t confirmed or denied the recent reports about his prior financial status. But if he did file for bankruptcy twice, he could have shown a little more humility after seeing Rose’s situation.
