’90 Day Fiancé’: Bilal and Shaeeda Joke About Bilal’s ‘Prank’ Being Payback
90 Day Fiancé stars Bilal and Shaeeda finally gave fans some background on Bilal’s prank. The couple, introduced in season 9 along with five new couples and one returning one, caused fans to raise their eyebrows when Bilal lied about where he lived. Now, the duo says this was in response to something Shaeeda did to Bilal during his visit to her home country of Trinidad and Tobago.

When we met Bilal in the premiere episode of 90 Day Fiancé Season 9, he told producers how important it was for Shaeeda to love him for himself and not his material possessions. He planned to trick her once she arrived in the States regarding where he lives.
“When Shaeeda comes in today, I’ve got one more big surprise for her. We’re not immediately going to come to the actual home, so she won’t see this house. She won’t see any of her surprises, any of the gifts I got for her until the day after she comes. I’m going to pick Shaeeda up in a van that’s not mine. It’s a work van so it’s been used and abused a little bit. And, also, I’m going to bring her to my childhood home, the home that I actually grew up in,” the real estate investor explained.
When Shaeeda questioned the situation, Bilal took offense to her comments. She pointed out that he always wore nice suits, belts, and watches when he visited her in Trinidad. However, those things didn’t match the lifestyle he previously portrayed.
90 Day Fiancé star Bilal quickly became one of the most hated people in the franchise. Many believed the way he deceived Shaeeda was unforgivable, but it looks like the two worked things out.

As it turns out, Bilal’s prank wasn’t the first one in the 90 Day Fiancé couple’s relationship. In fact, Shaeeda played a joke on Bilal when he visited her in Trinidad. Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Bilal explained that when he asked Shaeeda the best place to rent an Airbnb, she put him in the “middle of the worst crime area ever.”
“It was like I was in an institution,” he explained. “There was like, barb wire, fencing around the premise. It was a bad area. She thought it was very funny,” Bilal said to Entertainment News. “So we both like to joke, humor, so in the back of my mind I was like, OK, good one, I was there for seven days — not one, but seven — so in my mind I was like, you know what, I’m gonna get you back.”

While 90 Day Fiancé stars Bilal and Shaeeda laugh about Bilal’s prank now, that doesn’t mean it didn’t have a lasting effect on their relationship. Shaeeda admits some of her comments were pretty snarky, but it could’ve been much worse.
Shaeeda said, “I wish he would not have tested me because I was holding back so much things I wanted to say and this could have destroyed us. That little bit that I said, we still have arguments based on that. We haven’t got past this test. It still comes up, he still talks about it and says how much I hurt his feelings and I try to express my point of view, so he tested me on something that really could have, you know… it’s just too heavy.”
