’90 Day Fiancé’: Brandon and Julia Set a Mother’s Day Wedding Date
On the latest episode of 90 Day Fiancé, Brandon Gibbs, and his fiance, Julia Trubkina, announced that they wanted to get married on Mother’s Day weekend. But Brandon’s mom, Betty, was not happy with the decision, and she wholeheartedly tried to convince them to change the date.
The ’90 Day Fiancé’ couple have less than 90 days to get married
As seen on 90 Day Fiancé, Julia arrived in the United States from Russia on a K-1 fiance visa. This gives her and Brandon 90 days to get married. And if they don’t, she would have to leave the country.
The couple is living with Brandon’s mom and dad, Betty and Ron, to save money. But Julia wasn’t keen on staying with them. Brandon told producers that he tried to explain the situation to his bride-to-be but wasn’t sure she got the full picture.
“When I first met Julia, I explained to her, I’m not rich or anything, and I couldn’t move out of my parents’ house yet,” Brandon explained. “So when Julia arrives, we’ll be living with my parents on the farm, and we’ll have 90 days to get married.”
They have plenty of reasons to get married sooner than later
Brandon and Julia are living under Ron and Betty’s strict house rules. For starters, they are not allowed to sleep in the same room until they’re married. And Betty has been hounding both of them to use various forms of birth control.
But Brandon’s parents may have a reason for being so overprotective. They told 90 Day Fiancé producers that they weren’t yet sure about Julia’s intentions.
“We really enjoyed our interaction with Julia,” Betty said. “She seems like a lovely person, but I mean, I’ve gotta admit, both of radars are still out because we just don’t know that her intentions are for Brandon and [if she] has his best interest at heart.”
Brandon and Julia set a wedding date on ’90 Day Fiancé’
On the latest episode of 90 Day Fiancé, Brandon and Julia went out for dinner with Ron, Betty, and Brandon’s grandfather. Julia talked about her first difficult day on the farm. And when Betty asked about the marks on her neck, to her horror, Julia admitted Brandon bit her.
But the night kept getting worse for Betty. Brandon and Julia announced that they wanted to get married on May 9, which happened to be Mother’s Day weekend. Betty looked visibly disappointed and suggested they pick another day.
But Julia noted that Brandon sent his first message to her, “You look like my future wife,” on the ninth of the month. The number was sentimental, so Julia wanted to get married on the same date.
Betty pushed Brandon to change his mind. But he stood his ground and insisted he would keep the date to make Julia happy.
Fans will get to see how their wedding drama unfolds as this season of 90 Day Fiancé continues. New episodes air Sundays on TLC.
