’90 Day Fiancé’: Brittany Banks Reveals How the Rest of the Season with Yazan Went
Some of the couples on 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way are already off to a rocky start, but no one’s relationship is going quite as badly as Brittany Banks and Yazan’s. On the show, Banks has only just arrived in Jordan and things are already going downhill. Now, Banks is revealing how the rest of the season with Yazan turns out. Were they able to turn things around or was it all downhill from the moment they got together?
What has already happened with Brittany and Yazan this season?
Usually, when the couples reunite after spending time apart, their reunions are full of kisses and tender moments. Banks and Yazan were only excited to see one another for a few minutes before things took a turn.
When hugging the production crew to greet them, Banks showed them some liquor that she had in her bag. Yazan immediately started freaking out.
“I’ve never seen him act like that and it was scary to me,” Banks told the cameras.” I’m not proud of his behavior at all. I’m actually very disappointed.”
Both the hugging and the fact that Banks brought alcohol were signs of disrespect to Yazan.
“This is exactly what my parents warned me about,” he said. “Brittany either doesn’t understand or doesn’t care about the traditions or the country I live in.”
Banks couldn’t understand why Yazan was so upset and started to rethink their relationship.
“Of course I respect his culture and his choices but at the same time I am not Muslim,” she told the cameras. “It reminded me of the way my ex behaves and so if he’s going to behave like my ex then I don’t want anything to do with him.”
How does the relationship move forward?
With such an explosive start to her trip in Jordan, fans have been wondering how Banks and Yazan can recover. But in an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Banks said that she and Yazan had to learn to compromise after that moment.
“When I’m dealing with someone — especially from a different background, and he’s used to things being a certain way — we’re learning to compromise,” she says.”I think sometimes you have to just check things at the door that you’re not willing to accept.”
At this point in the show, Banks didn’t think all was lost between her and Yazan.
“We still have time to see if the compromise is worth it,” she continues.”I think it’s too soon to tell. So far, I think everything has happened the way it’s supposed to and I’m enjoying the ride.”
Does Brittany convert to Islam?
One major point of contention between Banks and Yazan this season has been his religion. Yazan and his family have expressed their expectation for Banks to convert to Islam. But Banks doesn’t think that’s in the cards for her.
“I’m not gonna convert to any religion for anybody,” she says. “I don’t think that’s a good idea for anybody. If you do it, it should be for God, not for a man.”
Though things would be easier for her and Yazan if she would change some things about the way she behaves, she says she won’t do it unless it’s something she truly wants.
“If I sacrifice anything … it’s going to be for myself because I decide that it’s a good decision,” she continues. “It’s not gonna be for anybody else or for any man because that’s the only way I’m going to stick to it, if it’s really for myself and something I believe in. I think it’s unfair, really, to try to change yourself for any other person.”
