’90 Day Fiancé’: Brittany Banks Reveals Why Her Divorce Is Taking So Long
Brittany Banks has appeared on this season of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way with her fiancé Yazan. This season, Yazan has been working to get Banks to convert to Islam so they can get married. Unfortunately, unbeknownst to Yazan, Banks is still married to her ex. Now, she is opening up about why she hasn’t been able to get a divorce.
Brittany Banks’ marriage
At the beginning of the season, Banks revealed to the cameras that she was still married.
“I married my ex five years ago and it didn’t work out how I thought it would,” she said in a confessional.
“And right now he’s not playing nice at all. He’s giving me a really hard time,” she continued, speaking of the divorce.
Banks’ husband was deported shortly after they were married. Because her husband was no longer around, Banks did not feel the need to rush toward a divorce initially.
Why is the divorce taking so long?
Banks sought legal assistance before heading to Jordan, but the lawyer told her that the divorce could take up to a year. Halfway through the season, Banks left Jordan to get the divorce settled but things have still been moving slowly.
When Banks flew home, she was under the impression that there would be a hearing regarding her divorce. When she got to the courthouse, she claimed that was not the case. She told the cameras that there was no hearing because her paperwork was never actually put through the system.
Did Yazan and Brittany Banks break up?
Yazan and Banks have clashed throughout the entire season over Banks’ behavior. Fans of the show have taken to social media to ask Banks why she would move to a conservative place like Jordan if she wasn’t planning to follow the cultural norms.
“I feel like [there are] so many context clues in the show that shows that,” Banks commented under a video of herself. “A woman like me isn’t gonna up and move to a country like that unless the person I’m dating can accept me as I am and the environment permits.
“Do y’all miss the parts on TV where he tells me one thing and tells his parents another, then gives me a random ultimatum pressuring me because of the lies he told his parents?” she continued. “I’m tired of being attacked when he knew exactly who I was when he pursued me and still does. Jordan culture does not prohibit this. His particular family does not like it, but I don’t live to please them.”
Though Banks and Yazan are working toward getting married onscreen, in real time, it seems that things aren’t so great between them. Banks has posted a number of things on social media that allude to them having broken up. She even claimed that Yazan cheated on her.
“Fun facts about us,” she captioned a now-deleted picture of her and Yazan. “Yazan’s favorite drink is Jack Daniels. Yazan loves hashish, tramadol, and gaslighting women. He also loves to cheat with ’90 Day Fiancé’ fans. He’s on his third one. His favorite pastime is blaming others for his actions. Enjoy @yazan_abuhurira did I miss anything? Should I honorably mention your out of control temper?”
Fans probably won’t find out the truth about Banks and Yazan’s relationship status until the tell-all special.
