’90 Day Fiancé’: Brittany Says Yazan Treats Her Like ‘an Object’–’You’re Not Going to Talk to Me Like That’
90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way couple Brittany and Yazan are already running into issues. As soon as Brittany landed in Jordan, she and Yazan began arguing about what is and isn’t acceptable culturally.
Brittany arrived in Jordan with alcohol in her bag. She also hugged a few of the 90 Day Fiancé crew members. Both things Yazan had previously asked her not to do. He was so upset that he cursed at both Brittany and crew members for being disrespectful.
Additionally, Yazan has expressed that he’d like Brittany to convert to Islam, but she’s not so sure. So things aren’t off to a great start overall.
Brittany and Yazan get heated over having to compromise on the next ’90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way’
On Monday’s episode, Brittany and Yazan will continue to argue over their clashing cultures. Brittany believes she should be able to hug Americans, as hugging is a typical greeting and goodbye in the states. But Yazan says when Brittany hugs American men he feels jealous.
“No, babe. That’s… it’s so wrong. You want me to say to you, ‘It’s OK, go to hug the man?’ I can’t do it,” says Yazan.
“You’re not going to talk to me like that,” Brittany responds. “Like I’m a kid, like you control everything that I do, like I’m an object. I’m a person, I’m a human being.”
Brittany has been open about having a former controlling ex-husband. So this situation clearly hits a nerve.
“You don’t respect me how I thought you did. You really don’t. You don’t love me because you don’t want me to be myself,” she tells him.
Later, Yazan accuses Brittany of not loving him because she’s not willing to change for him.
“Why the f*ck would I change myself? You don’t love me then. If you don’t love who I am and you want to change every little thing,” she tells him.
“It’s not funny to me ’cause I’m the one that keeps coming all across the f**king world to come see a person who doesn’t care about me,” she adds as Yazan laughs.
Brittany knows she needs to compromise but doesn’t want to change for Yazan
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight on June 24, Brittany said she and Yazan were still learning how to compromise.
“When I’m dealing with someone — especially from a different background, and he’s used to things being a certain way — we’re learning to compromise,” she said. “I think sometimes you have to just check things at the door that you’re not willing to accept.”
But, ultimately, Brittany doesn’t think it’s a good idea to change for Yazan.
“When you try to change other people’s opinions and views, that’s when problems arise. You can talk to people and have them sympathize and empathize with you, but at the end of it all, you can’t force that person to change,” she said.
