’90 Day Fiancé’: Colt Finally Admits Debbie Needs to Stop Interfering In His Relationships
Colt Johnson’s mom, Debbie Johnson was involved in his failed marriage to Larissa Dos Santos Lima, as well as his break up with Jess Caroline. But finally, on this season of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After, Colt is admitting he needs to tell Debbie to stop interfering in his relationships.
On ’90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After,’ Colt suggests Debbie is repeating her pattern with Jess
While he may have gotten past his divorce from Larissa, on this season of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After, Colt is still mixed up in the same drama. He’s letting Debbie get involved in his relationship with Jess Caroline, and he even takes her on his trip to Brazil to meet her.
But while they are in Brazil, Debbie finds herself overwhelmed by how quickly Jess and Colt are moving. She has a meltdown in front of Jess, yells at her, and then slams a door in her face. Colt tells producers that Debbie behaving the same way she did when he was married to Larissa.
“I knew going into Brazil, my mother being there could jeopardize my relationship with Jess,” he says. “And now she’s slamming doors, she’s yelling. And she’s just doing the same sh*t she did with Larissa.”
Debbie admits she wants to sabotage Colt’s relationship with Jess
Jess has been suspicious of Colt’s relationship with Vanessa Guerra all season. He lies to her and tells her they don’t talk. But in reality, he and Vanessa are great friends, and they also share a romantic history Jess doesn’t know about.
Debbie thinks Jess is only with Colt for a green card, but she spends time with Vanessa and thinks she’s perfect for her son. “I wish that Colt would be with someone like Vanessa, instead of Jess,” Debbie tells 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After producers.
She also expresses her concern about how quickly Colt is moving forward with Jess. And she admits she’s trying to split them up.
“I met Jess, she seemed to be in a little bit of hurry about getting married,” Debbie suggests. “I will do everything in my power to sabotage his relationship.”
Ultimately, Debbie is responsible for outing Colt’s “friendship” with Vanessa to Jess. And this leads to a major rift in their relationship.
The ’90 Day Fiancé’ star says his mom needs to stop interfering in his love life
In the sneak peek for the upcoming episode of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After, Colt seems to be in a reflective mood. After Jess discovered how many women he had been talking to, and also found out that Vanessa had moved in with him and Debbie, she called him a liar and dumped him.
While he’s working out and vomiting at an outdoor exercise park, he meets up with his friend Steve and tells him about his break up. Steve points out that all the women he dates seem to have a problem with his mom.
“I know Debbie really comes from a good place in her heart, she has the best of intentions, “ Steve says. “But sadly, her interfering in these relationships is putting a lot of undue pressure and stress on Colt.”
Colt agrees with Steve. And he admits that he should have never let Debbie get involved in his romantic life.
“My mother loves me very much, but I think she just never wants to lose me,” Colt tells producers. “I need her less involved in my relationships — it’s very difficult to break a pattern, but I think the only way I can move forward is to just say no to her interference.”
