The stars of the 90 Day Fiancé franchise have run the emotional gamut in 2020. As expected, the TLC series has given fans plenty of jaw-dropping moments.
From the original series to the numerous spin-offs including Before the 90 Days, Darcey and Stacey, Happily Ever After? and The Family Chantel, here are 10 of the franchise’s most shocking moments of the year.
10. Darcey calls Stacey ‘Miss Piggy’ on their 90 Day Fiancé spin-off
Stacey wanted to wear a big, puffy ball gown for her wedding, but Darcey had concerns. Because they are petite, well-endowed women, Darcey was worried that her twin sister would end up looking like Miss Piggy on her wedding day.
9. Nicole faced an interrogation about her relationship with Alejandro
Nicole’s friends were extremely curious about her relationship with Alejandro, and they asked her a million questions. They grilled the 90 Day Fiancé star about Alejandro’s job and education – even the way he dresses.

8. Nicole introduces her mom to Alejandro
Fans knew that Nicole was nervous about introducing Alejandro to her mother, Lida. But they didn’t expect what went down when the moment finally arrived.
Alejandro’s job didn’t meet Lida’s expectations. When she found out he was married, she grabbed her purse and took a swing at Alejandro.
7. The longest divorce in ’90 Day Fiancé’ history
Sumit shocked Jenny when he told her he was married during an episode of The Other Way. Instead of walking away, she decided to patiently wait for him to separate from his wife. However, she didn’t quite realize how long she would have to wait to start her relationship with Sumit.
Both Jenny and 90 Day Fiancé fans were shocked to find out that Sumit’s friend has been going through the divorce process in India for four years.
6. Angenette discovers alcohol
During an episode of The Family Chantel, Chantel took her brother Royal’s fiancé, Angenette, out to a club for a girls’ night out. Angenette claimed that she had never drunk alcohol before, but she quickly developed a love for Long Islands.
Angenette was having a good time and partying hard. But after failing to respond to Royal’s text messages, he showed up and took Angenette home.
5. Ed’s group shower
90 Day Fiancé fans love Big Ed, and his group shower with Rose and her dad had everyone talking. Ed hesitantly agreed to join the shower before Rose surprised him by pouring a bucket of cold water over his head.
Then, he discovered chickens were right behind them before Rose sprayed him with a hose. Ed’s culture shock had fans rolling when he tried to leave and came face to face with a rat.
4. The Apartment Tour
When Ariela’s parents visited her and Biniyam’s apartment for the first time, they received a grand tour. Unfortunately, they were less than impressed — just like their daughter.
They critiqued every square foot of the home and expressed their disappointment over its tiny size and lack of appliances.
3. Asuelu’s entitled mom and sister
Kalani and Asuelu have had issues with his family all year due to cultural differences. Asuelu’s Samoan mom and sister believe that he should be sending his earnings to his family instead of taking care of his wife and children.
Originally, Kalani supported her husband’s efforts to take care of his family. But that all changed when Asuelu’s mom said she didn’t care about her grandchildren. Then, his sister Tammy tried to take a swing at Kalani.

When Robert was at the altar with his bride, Anny, every 90 Day Fiancé viewer was on the edge of their seat when Robert spoke up after the pastor asked if anyone objected to the union.
Instead of calling things off, Robert took the opportunity to propose more formally than he did the first time.
1. The most shocking ’90 Day Fiancé’ moment of 2020 — Charlie gets drunk
This moment couldn’t end soon enough. When Elizabeth and Andrei got married for the second time in Moldova, her brother Charlie got drunk at the reception. He then proceeded to grab the microphone away from his father and started to give a long speech.
Charlie drunkenly rambled about how his sister and her husband shouldn’t use his dad for money. However, most people at the wedding didn’t speak English, so they had no idea what Charlie was saying.
