’90 Day Fiance’: Darcey Silva Explains Her and Tom Brooks’ ‘Unique Situation’
Darcey Silva has been looking for love since the beginning of time. Or at least the beginning of 90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days. Unfortunately, she hasn’t had much luck in the romance department. In the first two seasons of the show, she dated Dutch fitness instructor Jesse Meester. When that didn’t work out, she appeared on last season with English businessman Tom Brooks. But from the very beginning, her relationship with Brooks was pretty rocky.
Now, she is back on season four of the show, seemingly with Brooks.
Darcey Silva’s relationships
Silva and Meester dated for two seasons of the show, but their constant arguments got in the way of making their love last.
Darcey then moved on to Brooks, who she had been supposedly talking to online on and off for years.
“I’ve always been very open in love, the giver, the big heart,” Silva told Entertainment Tonight of why she is always in relationships. “I think people see a different side of me, they think that I’m kind of desperate, that I’m seeking out for it too desperately, but no. I mean, my relationship with Jesse even, and Tom, have been very real and they wanted to be in the relationship too. It wasn’t one-sided. When I give my heart, I give it big, and they said they loved me and wanted to be with me so I just … it felt right, but in the end, the one with Jesse was too toxic to stay in, and that’s when I kind of opened up to Tom. I felt like I could trust him, you know, we had that journey and it was a beautiful feeling … that they could be open and fall in love with somebody that has your back in a sense. … Maybe I am a little unlucky in love in that moment.”
Everything seemed fine between Brooks and Silva initially. So when she visited Brooks in the UK, she was hoping for an engagement ring. Instead, Brooks gave her the key to his house. And then at the reunion special, it seemed that Brooks and Silva’s relationship was done.
“Maybe I’m in a different mindset,” Silva said. “I mean, if you love somebody, you’ll do whatever it takes to be with that one person. I mean, I would like to have more time with you, more communication. I feel like you don’t.”
“I feel when I say to you, ‘I’m in a business meeting, I’ll call you later,’ and I get 1500 text messages, that’s not you respecting me,” Brooks responded. “You ring me at 4 o’clock in the morning then send me 50 messages saying, ‘What are you doing?’ Are you that girl? You can’t ring people at 5 a.m.”
“There’s so much going off in terms of work, I feel like I can’t give you this love and time that you want.”
Since then, there have been rumors that each of them is dating someone new.
What’s going on with Tom and Darcey now?
In the previews for this season, it appears that Brooks and Silva are back together. In the clip, Silva told Brooks that she doesn’t trust him.
“Tom and I, you know, we have a unique situation this time around and he knew exactly what I was referring to,” Silva told the outlet of why she told Brooks what she did. “And in that moment, you know, I’d been trusting Tom, and in that moment, there was something I felt like he needed to share with me and he hadn’t, so I wanted him to open up about it and I just put him on the spot in that moment because I wanted to catch him off guard because I wanted to see how he was gonna respond to what I was asking him. He knew how I felt about that and it hurt, but he did answer very honestly.”
