’90 Day Fiancé’: Darcey Silva’s Engagement to the ‘Love of Her Life’ Proves How Adored She Is Among Her Castmates
Over the years, Darcey Silva has become a 90 Day Fiancé mainstay. The 46-year-old Connecticut mom of two first dated Dutch model Jesse Meester on TLC’s 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days before moving on to her British ex-boyfriend, Tom Brooks. She was also featured on the seventh season of 90 Day Fiancé, in addition to appearances on 90 Day Fiancé: Pillow Talk with her twin sister, Stacey Silva.
Most recently, 90 Day Fiancé fans have been able to see Darcey’s tumultuous love life unfold on the twins’ spin-off, Darcey and Stacey. But the notoriously hopeless romantic may have finally found her happy ending – in 32-year-old Georgi Rusev, a Bulgarian massage therapist whom Darcey calls “the love of her life.”
The reaction to Darcey’s engagement was nothing short of explosive, with fans rushing to congratulate the couple on their happy news. Many of Darcey’s castmates showered the TLC star with well wishes, revealing just how close she’s become to many of them over the years.
Darcey quietly accepted a proposal from Georgi in June
Darcey and Georgi raised eyebrows on Darcey and Stacey when they moved in together during the COVID-19 crisis after just two in-person visits. The head-over-heels couple fell for each other quickly after connecting on social media – and when Darcey met up with her new man in Miami during Super Bowl weekend, sparks flew immediately.
On Stacey and Darcey’s 90 Day Fiancé spin-off, Darcey was concerned about Georgi’s legally married status. Although he’d been separated for some time, his divorce was delayed by COVID-19.
But it looks like the couple was able to overcome their issues. PEOPLE recently revealed that Georgi and Darcey got engaged in June 2020.
“I still feel newly engaged,” Darcey gushed. “I haven’t been able to really celebrate it yet with everybody. I want to be able to shout it to the world.” She added that Georgi’s proposal was “a total surprise” that she “wasn’t expecting at all,” despite their “deep connection.”
Darcey also told PEOPLE that her teen daughters, Aniko and Aspen Bollok, heartily approved of the match.
“They mean the most to me,” the 90 Day Fiancé star said of her two daughters, “and Georgi knows they come first and foremost in my life. He accepts them and me as a mom, and they get along very well.”

After the big reveal – and in advance of the October 18 season finale of Darcey and Stacey, which will feature the surprise proposal – Darcey raved about Georgi on Instagram.
“I said Yes! Dreams do come true!” the hopeless romantic wrote in one post, sharing photos of herself kissing her future husband and showing off her ring. “You are the love of my life.”
In another Instagram post, Darcey seemed more than sure that her connection with Georgi was the real deal at long last.
“D&G ❤️ FOREVER!” the 90 Day Fiancé star wrote in the caption. “Our kisses will last a lifetime!”
’90 Day Fiancé’ cast members swarmed the comments to congratulate Darcey
Darcey has often attracted criticism from 90 Day Fiancé fans for her intense longing for love. But Darcey’s castmates have usually been loyal and devoted to her, even jumping to her defense against critics. One cast member, Tim Malcolm, adamantly defended her at one 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days Tell-All against her ex, Jesse. Tim also took to Instagram to call Jesse out for allegedly using Darcey as his “meal ticket.”
The reaction to Darcey’s engagement from her TLC castmates was no exception, showing that she’s built up quite a bit of goodwill among her fellow reality TV stars during her substantial time on the network.
“Beautiful! Congratulations to the both of you!” Kalani Faagata gushed in the comments of Darcey’s Instagram announcement.
Stephanie Matto (Erika Owens’ ex-girlfriend), who has always seemed close with Darcey on social media, also chimed in to offer her congratulations. “This is such a beautiful photo & beautiful couple!” she raved.
David Toborowsky – who recently landed his own digital spin-off with Annie Suwan Toborowsky, and has built up his own strong relationships among the 90 Day Fiancé castmates over the years – commented, “Congratulations and wish you both all the happiness in the world.”
90 Day Fiancé stars Elizabeth Potthast Castravet, Loren Brovarnik, Evelin Villegas, Armando Rubio, Avery Warner, and Cortney Reardanz also added to the chorus of congratulatory messages, as did Anny Francisco and Robert Springs (who appeared with Darcey on 90 Day Fiancé season 7 and recently welcomed a baby girl).
Darcey’s twin sister Stacey, as well as her Albanian husband, Florian Sukaj, each had some sweet words of their own for the recently engaged couple. This might have surprised some fans, given Darcey and Stacey’s tendency to compete and be at odds with one another and Darcey’s distrust of Florian in the past. It might be a sign that the sisters, and their respective partners, have begun to move on in a positive direction.
