’90 Day Fiancé’: How David Murphey Defends Lana for Remaining on Dating Sites

We learned even more about David Murphey and his history of dating Ukrainian women on part two of the 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days “Tell-All.” Lana was by no means his first Ukrainian girlfriend.

David even recounted the old days (in the ’90s) when he used to flip through a catalog to choose a woman to meet in Kiev at a “social.” He says he’s made over 20 trips to Ukraine over the years and spent a quarter-million to 300 thousand dollars. He referred to his travels as a grand “adventure.”

David received a lot of flak from his fellow 90 Day Fiancé participants (but mostly from Big Ed Brown). Big Ed told David, blatantly, that Lana has been using him.

“This was a job for her,” he said.

David grew progressively more upset and even, at one point, said he wouldn’t continue if Ed was still present at the “Tell-All.” All the while, David continued to defend Lana.

Why David and Lana still communicate via a paid site, according to David

At the beginning of his interview, David tried to contact Lana via the dating site they met on (after seven years, that’s still how they communicate with each other). But she wasn’t online. He said he hadn’t spoken to Lana in six days.

Several 90 Day Fiancé participants told David that he shouldn’t still be communicating with Lana on a site he has to pay to use. Fans of the show will remember that David bought Lana an iPhone, but he says she doesn’t like using it because her nails make it difficult to type.

Another reason David says Lana is still on dating sites is that she doesn’t have a lot of friends. He says the people she’s been communicating with on those sites for eight or nine years are “her only friends.”

As 90 Day Fiancé fans know, thanks to the leaked “Tell-All” footage, David and Lana aren’t currently together.

“Right now, I would say we are not together,” he said. “I’m not going to say we won’t be together in the future. She’s under way too much stress with what’s going on with the show. And the people who bother her. I told her that’s part your fault, you can get off.”

But at another point in the “Tell-All,” David spoke as if he and Lana were still engaged. And he’s still posting photos of them together on his Instagram. Despite not currently being together, it’s clear that David wants to keep up his relationship with Lana any way he can.
