’90 Day Fiance’: Dean Hashim Returns to the Show After Suspicious Absence
90 Day Fiance is like the show that never ends. Since its debut in 2014, the franchise has come up with several spin-offs. One of the most popular is 90 Day Fiance: Pillow Talk. During Pillow Talk, several fan favorites watch the most recent episode of 90 Day Fiance from the comfort of their homes and give their commentary. One of the most well-liked duos on the show was Dean Hashim and his brother Tarik Myers. The two were hilarious together and their comments always brought a lightheartedness to the show.
In Dec. of last year, Hashim mysteriously stopped appearing on the show. Many assumed that he was fired due to some comments about Tim Malcolm. Now, Hashim is back in the franchise.
Why did Dean Hashim leave the show?
Throughout Malcolm’s time on Before the 90 Days, fans criticized him for being too feminine and wondered about his sexuality. Hashim often commented on Malcolm’s sexual identity as well.
“The way [Tim] crossed his legs, man, it don’t look like he got a pair of b*lls between ’em,” Hashim said. “I don’t know man, I can’t even cross my legs like that man, I’m blessed, you know what I mean? I can’t cross my legs like that. He crosses his legs more feminine than she do.”
After receiving lots of backlash, Hashim apologized.
“You and I did an interview a while back and I kind of got a little overboard with my jokes on Tim,” he said during an episode of The Domenick Nati Show . “You know, once again publicly I want to apologize to anybody — not just Tim, Tim too for sure — but anybody else who was offended by that. It was not done in a mean-spirited way. I’m a freaking comedian, I’m a jokester, and that’s all it was, I was joking and I went too crazy.”
Dean returns to the franchise
Now, Hashim has returned to the franchise with the new show 90 Day Fiancé: Self-Quarantined. During his segment, he updated fans on his relationship with Myers.
“I’m going to be honest with you man, I haven’t talked to Tarik in like six months, bro,” Hashim told his other brother. “To keep it 100 with you, he really doesn’t support my life, man. He really had a big problem with me actually coming out here. See, I think Tarik approves of my relationship with Rigin, but he doesn’t like how I went about my relationship. I said, ‘Screw it. I’m leaving America. I’m coming to the Philippines.’ He didn’t like it.”
The feud started when Hashim decided to move to Cebu, Phillippines to be with his girlfriend, Rigin, who he had met online. The decision came after only five months of dating. At first, Hashim had only planned to go to the Philippines, meet Rigin, and stay for 10 days, but once he got there, he decided to just stay for good.
“I was talking to a few American men in the dating site, but it’s Dean who wins my heart,” Rigin said. “He’s so funny that’s why I keep talking to him. Dean is a good partner. He keeps me laughing.”
While Hashim is in the Philipines, he won’t be able to film Pillow Talk segments with his brother, so it’s unlikely that the two will come back to that specific show.
