’90 Day Fiancé’: Deavan Clegg Reveals That Drascilla Has Bell’s Palsy
90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way fans have been worried about Deavan Clegg’s daughter Drascilla for quite some time. First, Clegg claimed that Jihoon Lee had been abusing the young child and then she revealed that Drascilla was suffering from an unknown illness. Now, Drascilla has finally gotten a diagnosis.
Drascilla’s health has been a concern
Throughout the seasons of the show, fans have been concerned for Drascilla’s health as she was shown still drinking formula from a bottle as a toddler. Clegg later clarified that Drascilla was on formula because the doctor suggested it after the child was unable to gain weight.
But that wasn’t the end of fans’ concern. When Lee and Clegg would post pictures of Drascilla, fans would comment on how pale she looked and wonder if she had a health issue. Eventually, Clegg had to respond to all of the comments.
“UPDATE: I sat here thinking I’m not going to let it get to me anymore,” she captioned a picture of Drascilla. “People are are rude and need to work on themselves. I’ll continue to show my beautiful kids because I love them.
It’s come to my attention that Jihoon posted a photo with Drascilla. The lighting making her look tired because of shadows. I’ve received email after email threatening me. Now my child is healthy and happy. Has everything she could wish for. She does amazing at school, helps with her brother, stays active and healthy.
“Everyone commenting on her fair complexion being a problem made me sick to my stomach,” she continued. “Drascilla and I are very pale naturally. When we stand next to someone who has tan skin like Jihoon of course we will look more fair skin. There is nothing wrong or unhealthy about having fair skin.”
Drascilla’s latest health scare
Recently, Clegg posted to her Instagram story to let fans know that Drascilla was struggling with her health.
“Our baby girl is going through a hard time right now,” she wrote. “A lot of health concerns right now, please send your prayers. We think we know what’s going on. Hoping for a diagnosis soon.”
After fans inquired if it was anything coronavirus (COVID-19) related and began to send well-wishes, Clegg clarified what Drascilla was struggling with.
“Everyone is asking,” she wrote on her Instagram stories. “We did find out Drascilla has Bells Palsy. We are sad but working hard with her. She’s improving day by day with new exercises. Thank you everyone for sending your prayers. We are hoping she will fully recover. But right now we are hoping to see our princess smile again.”
Bell’s palsy is a facial paralysis that can occur at any age, according to the Mayo Clinic. The cause of the condition is unknown but is thought to be the result of swelling and inflammation in the nerve that controls one side of your face. People with this condition usually experience weakness to total paralysis of one side of the face, drooling, loss of taste, headaches, and pain around the jaw or ear of the paralyzed side. The condition is usually temporary.
Clegg also thanked her fans for sending in their Bell’s Palsy recovery stories.
