Colt Johnson and his mother Debbie have made their mark on the 90 Day Fiancé franchise due to their bizarre relationship. Now, Debbie is back in 90 Day: The Single Life and ready to find a partner of her own. However, the 69-year-old still lives with her son and third wife, Vanessa. Colt’s past relationships were rocky, and it seems like Debbie was always a contributing factor. Now the Las Vegas native is finally admitting she might be a little too protective of her adult son.
Debbie Johnson admits to being a ‘helicopter mom’ to Colt in ‘90 Day: The Single Life’ Season 2
Fans will get to see Debbie strike out on her own search for love in the upcoming season of 90 Day: The Single Life, and that includes getting a peek into the way she feels about her son, Colt. Debbie’s husband, and Colt’s father, Harley, died in 2008, and Debbie has been on her own since. She and Colt have lived together for several years now, and Debbie has never had an issue holding back her thoughts on who Colt dates.
In a recent clip for 90 Day: The Single Life, one of the show producers asked Debbie to describe her relationship with her son. “How would I describe it? Helicopter mother. Colt’s there for me and I’m there for him. I look out for him when he’s wrong or when he makes a mistake, goes down the wrong road, which unfortunately he has a habit of doing.”

Debbie made it clear from the moment she met Colt’s first wife, Larissa, that she was not a fan. The two exchanged heated words on more than one occasion, with Larissa threatening to call the police on Debbie at one point. Of course, it probably didn’t help that Larissa, Colt, and Debbie all lived in the same house. The fact that Debbie lived with Colt and Larissa was a big point of contention for the couple.
Larissa was arrested for domestic assault multiple times, and eventually, Colt filed for divorce. Although, Debbie wasn’t a big fan of his next relationship either.
“He was married to Larissa, the Brazilian for six months. That was a huge mistake,” the 90 Day Fiancé star admits. “Thank God that ended, but then he dated another Brazilian, Jess, which was a total nightmare and it ended abruptly. Jess and Larissa fought constantly with Colt and I’m glad it worked out the way it did. Now I have a brand new daughter-in-law who I love completely.”
Colt and Vanessa Guerra recently tied the knot in secret, and even Debbie didn’t know when they did it. Thankfully, the two women seem to get along, and Vanessa chats with Debbie about her dates in an upcoming episode of 90 Day: The Single Life.
